Body image is all the rage right now. Everywhere you turn there's posters of models with their collar bones sticking out, advertisements for "rapid weight loss" and girls complaining that they can't wear a certain shirt because they "look fat". I'm not saying I'm any different; I stand in front of the mirror for hours deciding what to wear to cover up the parts of my body I dislike and I think everyday how much easier it would be if I could wear long sleeve shirts with out my bicep muscles ripping the seams.

Regardless, no one should feel badly about the way they look despite their size or shape. So instead of continually shaming my body, I've come up with a list of things I would like to be besides skinny.

1. Intellignet

There is no better compliment than someone saying you are intelligent. That goes beyond the surface. Being intelligent not only means you have a brain in your head, but also that you're open to new opinions, ideas, and carrying on a decent conversation with someone is so important to our daily lives.

2. Beautiful

Sure, being called "hot" or "pretty" is always flattering, but when someone describes another person as "beautiful", you know they truly mean it. Not to mention, having beauty inside and out is something we should all strive for.

3. Creative

Being creative goes beyond majoring in art. Creativity means you're not afraid to express yourself or go against the norm, and just be you.

4. Honest

Honesty is the best policy. If you can't be honest with yourself or to others, then how can you build relationships? Being honest in todays world is so frowned upon, it shouldn't be a bad thing to tell someone how you really feel.

5. Passionate

People are by far the most attractive when they are talking about something they are truly passionate about. Nothing is more captivating then having a conversation with someone who's enthusiastic about the topic.

6. Humorous

Humor is a form of intelligence, therefore having whit and making other people laugh should be far above body image on the scale of importance.

7. Kind

A small act of kindness really does goes a long way. Just by being nice to people, you can change their whole day and add a positive spin to it. Being a good person and helping others is far more valuable than your body image.

8. Confident

Despite how you look on the outside, everyone should have the opportunity to feel what it's really like to be self-assured. When you have confidence with yourself, thats when your true self can finally shine through.

So, next time you look in the mirror and curse your hips for being too big or your jeans for being a little snug, remember to say something nice to yourself, you deserve it.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
