8 Things All Girls Do to Get Ready

As a girl in college, I have learned a special routine for getting ready to go out for the night. This is a very particular process but every girl seems to have similar ways of getting ready. This is my personal routine and what goes through my head when I am getting ready. And for those reading who aren't girls, here's a little look into our lives...

1.Wash from Head to Toe

I only take a shower if I went to the gym during the day, but even though I am about to be covered in sweat for the most of the night it's still good to show up feeling clean :)

2. Turn some MUSIC on

Not just any music. Exciting LOUD music. You're going out. Some ghetto rap music is cool, but Top 50 in the USA on Spotify is my go-to station, highly recommended.

3. Dry hair do hair

I don't actually dry my hair or even do it sometimes. But when I do, I use a blow-dryer to give my hair volume. I know most people use straighteners but seriously BEAUTY TIP: Straighteners burn your hair and give you fly-aways.

4. Brush the pearlies

I actually don't know if other girls do this, but I like brushing my teeth before I put on my lipstick. Less of a hassle, and zero mess.

5. Paint

No seriously, makeup is a work of art, and is probably the most important part of getting ready and even this has an order to it. Foundation, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, eyebrows, blush, IN THAT EXACT ORDER. Don't forget to also bump to your music while doing so, except when you're doing your eyeliner.

6. The outfit (s)

By outfits I mean all the outfits you try on before you decide you want to wear the first one you chose.

My brain: "Should I wear that really cute shirt that I bought last year? Nope, probably just guna go with the usual crop top, high-waisted jeans, and wedges."

7. Selfies

After working on your canvas (yourself), you have to show the world what you have achieved. If you don't take a selfie, it probably means you're not really going out anyway (poser).

8. Meet your Gang and Go

Can't show up anywhere alone :)

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
