8 Things Every Youngest Child Knows As True

We're supposed to be spoiled, right?

Growing up as the youngest child has its ups and downs. Trust me, I would know, I am the youngest of four. My siblings are around 6, 10, and 11 years older than I am, so there's a big difference in how we grew up. There are ups and downs but I wouldn't trade my spot in the line-up for anything.

So here are some things that are totally true when it comes to being the youngest child.

1. Your older siblings always got the blame (well most of the time.)

I think my siblings got in trouble more for what they let me do while my parents were gone. Also, there were those times I could pull the "but I'm the baby" card and get out of some punishments.

2. Forever being called the baby of the family.

I mean, I'm 18 years old and I still get called the baby. My mom refers to me as her baby so much that my 2-year-old nephew thinks my name is "My Baby."

3. Getting to do things your older siblings could never do at your age.

I went to a concert alone with my friend at age 16 (my friend was 15.) All of my siblings made it clear to me that they never got to do anything like that at 16.

4. Having to entertain myself... a lot.

Being the youngest by so many years meant that while my siblings were all hanging out with friends their age, I was stuck finding ways to entertain myself.

5. Being able to sleep anywhere.

I can't tell you how many times I've fallen asleep somewhere that wasn't my bed. The majority of the time I just fell asleep during whatever movie my siblings made me watch with them.

6. Rarely being called by the correct name.

With three siblings, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and a nephew I rarely get called by the correct name. But props to my mom for trying!

7. Always being the one to get picked on by your older siblings.

There have been multiple occasions where I have been sat on, trapped under blankets, been the one to be wrestled (I won a few times), etc.

8. But loving your big siblings anyways because they're like a built-in best friend.

Even with the occasional fights, I love my siblings. They're like built-in mentors and best friends. My siblings have always been the ones to give advice on situations that I'm going through. I love going on adventures with them, like going on road trips and concerts. Older siblings are like the best friends that never leave you.

Bob's Burgers

College is a time of gaining independence, exploring new things, and copious amounts of Netflix. If you're like me, you often find yourself laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the situations you find yourself in. Here are ten times Bob's Burgers accurately captured college life.

1. What you're pretty sure your upstairs neighbors do at 3am every morning.

Supportive and spontaneous human beings are the best.

Theater Kids

Throughout school, the theater department has always been my go-to place with go-to people when I need advice, a dance party, or just someone to listen to me vent.

You never know what's going to happen when you're dealing with theatre or what kind of characters you'll encounter. We have too much fun doing anything! One time in my senior year acting class, we spent an entire class period watching Bob's Burgers, and it was the greatest class period ever.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.
