It's the middle of the semester, and you are absolutely drowning in coursework. Is that the sound of five midterms I hear?--NO! It's the sound of Netflix calling your name, because nothing is more beautiful than running away from your problems and binge-watching TV series and movies until four in the morning. So, here are some suggestions to get your mind off those three papers and that group project due in a week!.

1. Grey's Anatomy

There are 12 soul-crushing, tear-jerking, wine-drinking, sob-inducing, binge-worthy seasons of this show for all of you science-loving, drama-needy, emotionally-unstable people out there. And guess what: there's a new season! It's the perfect time to drown your sorrows in hot neurosurgeons and unrealistic relationship expectations.

2. The Walking Dead

If you don't watch it, you've heard of it. With 6 seasons of gory, action-packed and surprisingly heart-wrenching episodes, you'll be crying over walkers and Carl before you know it. Hop on the bandwagon and hold on for the ride!

3. Marvel's Agents of Shield

Do you love Captain America and Iron Man? Do you hate that we have to wait so long in between Marvel movies? Well, fret no more, my dear sci-fi babies, because the Agents of Shield are here to rescue you! Just be ready for some unexpected tears and a lot of emotional baggage with this one, kiddos.

4. House of Cards

If you're into the more political side of things, then this is the show for you. Even if you don't agree with this TV-witty, liberal South Carolina politician, his brutal political game and cleverness will have you rolling around laughing and wanting to become as savage as he is.

5. The Borgias

Pope Alexander VI and his family have more drama than you think in this series. Inspired by the real Pope Alexander VI, this show has both a dramatic and historical feel to it, that will have your hearts singing and your interest piqued.

6. Terra Nova

Dinosaurs. Teenage drama. Science. DINOSAURS. This wonderful little sci-fi gem was cut after one season, much to our dismay, but the single season it did have was just enough to make us enjoy it. If you're looking for a quick binge (if there even is such a thing), then this is the show for you! And did I mention the dinosaurs?

7. Before We Go

This little diamond in the rough was both acted and directed by Chris Evans (aka Captain America for all of you insane people that don't know who that is), and has the perfect mix of bittersweet romance and cute fluff to make anyone happy.

8. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Yes, it is my goal to make you cry your eyes out. If you haven't seen this movie, it is a must-see. Not even counting the historical relevance of this story, the movie itself is beautiful and heart-wrenching. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions before the end.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
