As that fluffy-haired guy says in that show about murder and dragons…

OH NO!

At least in Minnesota, the first projected snowfall is on Friday. One whole inch! *gasp* While this fall has been absolutely beautiful, I, for one, am dying to catch the first flakes of snow on my tongue.

For all my friends out there who struggle with seasonal depression, or for those who get an intense surge of cabin fever the minute the temps go below 40 (there’s a distinction; I’m a bit of both), we all know how simultaneously wonderful and difficult this season is. It’s hard to get motivated or feel even the least bit peppy when the sun itself seems to have gone behind the clouds until next May.

Music has an intense healing power. It is not a cure, but it helps so much. Here are just a few songs that I listen to when I’m feeling down in the dumps.

*trigger warning ahead: if you are offended by boy bands, girl bands, or pop music, please click off. Actually, just click out of my life. (Just kidding, but seriously- lighten up! Liking a pop song is okay once in awhile. Embrace it. They’re just so FUN.)*

Salute- Little Mix

"Ladies all across the world, listen up we're looking for recruits"

If there was ever a girl power anthem... it's this song, from this British girl group! Watch the music video, too. It especially hits home mid-cardio workout, or mid-drive in to school. Seriously, you'll be ready to conquer the world from the first siren sound effect. And the bass drop, tho...

Gold Rush- Ed Sheeran

"I was told to put my job in front of you, but it won't hold me like you do"

Ed Sheeran just makes me so happy.

Christmas. Music.

"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas... only a hippopotamus will dooooo!"

Tis the season for joy and glad tidings... who cares if it's January... or July! It's never too early/late for some Christmas cheer.

Outer Space/Carry On- 5 Seconds of Summer

"Carry on, let the good times roll, sail on, let your path unfold"

The ghost of 13 year-old me appears, and says through gritted teeth:"They're... not... a boyband!" This a good song with good memories that usually makes me cry. Give it a listen!

HAPPINESS- NEEDTOBREATHE

"Singing OOOOWHOOOOAAA HAPPINESS!"

If this song doesn't make you happy and ready to take on your dreams, I don't know what will.

Troye Sivan.

"The sunsets loooooonger, where I... am... frooooooom"

Troye hits me in the feels every time. Some of my personal favorites are SUBURBIA, QUIET, TALK ME DOWN and for you.

American Money (Virtu Remix)- BORNS

"We could run away, swimming in the sunlight every day"

Regardless of my joy level before listening to this song, it goes up 100 points afterward. Scientifically proven FACT, Jack!

Up&Up (Freedo Remix)- Coldplay

"We're gonna get it, get it together somehow"

Listening to this song while doing a Richard Simmons workout takes the overall experience to a whole new level, in my opinion.

There you have it! Give them a listen, if you feel like it! What's your favorite feel-good song? Leave it below in the comments!

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
