Sometimes there are just some definitive traits that show you're definitely from Ohio and you didn't even realize that you do or have them. Here is a list of a few things you might subconsciously do if you're from the best state in America- Ohio!
1. You Probably Say You're From Cleveland, Columbus Or Cincinnati
When people ask you where you are from you probably say one of the big cities in Ohio, lets face it- nobody knows where Amherst, Ohio is unless they are from there or right around there. This is just the easier way to do it.
2. If You Say You Go To College In Ohio, Most Will Assume That You Mean THE Ohio State University
This is always so annoying. I go to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio- thank you very much.
3. Chances Are Your High School Probably Had A "Bring Your Tractor To School Day"
If you're from a small town in Ohio, you most likely had this at your high school- whether you actually brought a tractor, or despised this day because you couldn't find a parking spot in the entire parking lot that day.
4. If You Are Actually From Cleveland- Everyone Assumes You Know Everything About Cleveland Sports
This happens quite a bit. Yeah- I get the overall idea of our sport teams, but I do not watch every single game or read every single stat, so if you want to know about the Cavaliers- you should probably just research it for yourself.
5. If You Did Not Grow Up In The Actual Cities Of Columbus, Cleveland Or Cincinnati- You Most Likely Grew Up Across The Street From A Corn Field
This is practically a given in Ohio, just like if you aren't on a major highway, you are traveling down back roads and dirt roads.
6. You Were Born Hating The Entire State of *ichigan
We don't use the M, because it is a curse word in Ohio.
7. You Are VERY Used To Dressing For Every Season- Every Day
In Ohio, you'll wake up and it'll be cold and rainy and sunny and 75 degrees by 2 pm.
8. Lastly, This Is What The Map Of Ohio Really Looks Like
Being from Ohio is definitely a blessing and a curse. All in all I have loved being raised here, from the corny jokes to pronouncing "wash" like "warsh." I have amazing friends and family that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. As much as I would love to live in California or on the west coast, I would miss the ways of life here. I will never take Ohio for granted. Ohio is where I came from. Ohio is home.
