New year, new shows! Here's to 2017 and binge watching to your heart's content. Here are a few ideas for your next obsession.

1. Crazy Ex Girlfriend

One of the funniest -- and highly underrated -- shows on Netflix. It's weird and quirky, but super fun. Part musical, part self-deprecating comedy, its the perfect show to binge watch over a long weekend with a couple of friends.

2. Quantico

Quantico is Scandal meets FBI drama. It draws you in from the first episode and doesn't let go, with romance and crime to no end. While there is only one season on Netflix right now, hopefully there will be more to come.

3. Switched at Birth

Freeform's long-running drama about two girls switched in the hospital where they were born can border on cheesy, but has enough drama to keep you watching for hours. Its look into deaf culture and the struggle to identify with family are actually poignant, which makes this a perfect binge-show.

4. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Kimmy is the type of person we all want to be, happy-go-lucky and naive to the evils of the world. While it is fun to watch her move on from being a "mole woman," Titus Andromedon, her roommate proves to be the hidden star of this cute comedy.

5. The Carrie Diaries

There were only two seasons made of this show, which is a total shame. It is based on the "Sex and the City" prequel of the same name, and has just as much drama and fashion as you would expect. It's a fun show to watch over a weekend or two, and will keep you hanging on 'till the last episode.

6. House

House is the grittier, less glamorous alternative to Gray's Anatomy. It follows the life of Dr. House, who solves medical mysteries while dealing with his own personal issues. It's a typical drama, but easy enough to start and watch over the course of a semester.

7. The Blacklist

Similar to Quantico, The Blacklist is an FBI drama that follows an agent and her life as she partners with a criminal. The mystery behind Reddington hooks you in from the beginning, and it's hard to stop watching.

8. Bones

While Bones isn't a shiny new drama or comedy, it's a tried-and-true show with 11 seasons on Netflix so far. Bones is witty and socially awkward, which makes the show funnier than it may seem.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
