8 Rude Things We All Occasionally Do

I don't mean to be rude, sometimes there are just bad days.

We all have the tendency to do terrible things, regardless of how kind-hearted we actually are. I guess we can chalk it up to human nature, or occasional selfishness, but whatever the case, here are some truly s***** things we all do.

1. “Oh, I just now saw your text!”

I might been busy and not seen your text, or I might just have decided I didn’t want to talk to you.

2. “I totally didn’t notice that piece of spinach in your teeth.”

“I was looking at your eyes, I didn’t even notice!” This may be true, but more likely I didn’t know how to bring it up so I just pretended I didn’t see.

3. “Oh I’m sorry I didn’t hold the door for you, I didn’t see you.”

I may not have seen you, or you may have been walking just a bit too slow for me to rationalize holding the door for you.

4. “Oh I’m sorry I was walking so slow, I didn’t realize you were behind me.”

I knew you were behind me, I just want to watch the world burn.

5. *See’s frenemy while wearing sunglasses. Ignores them.*

Phew so glad I avoided that social interaction! Thank god!

6. *See someone hesitate while deciding to get in line. Runs to get in line before them.*

If you were taking that long to get in line I cannot imagine how long it’ll take you to order.

7. A person asks, "Are you stressed?" You respond, “Yep” and keep walking.

You are from the dumpster. Of course, I'm stressed, don't remind me just how stressed I am. Thank you!

8. When you have delicious food and don’t want to share.

“Oh yeah, I do have 12 doughnuts ... Yeah, you can’t have any ... Why, oh well, because I promised my entire dorm building 1/32 of a doughnut each so I really don’t have any to spare ...” It’s not true, I have serious doughnut eating plans tonight and I cannot share.

Whatever reason you have for doing crappy things, just remember, minimizing rudeness leads to the maximum amount of friends! But, jokes aside, having a bad day and being rude every now and then can be excused, as long as it's only a rare occurrence.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
