8 Relatable Daily Concerns That Many College Students Endure

If you're in college, then you know that it's almost impractical to attest to the notion of having a stress-free day. Whether it's a bottomless pit of homework, the pressure to engage in social activities, or just simply doing massive loads of laundry the mind of a college student is constantly moving at a rapid pace and it feels as if there isn't enough time in a day to accomplish everything. Like many, I sometimes find myself burdened with immense anxiety about all that I have to do, which leads me to fall into the swing of pushing it off. The overused phrase of, "I'll do it tomorrow" has never been more relevant to a college student and as I venture further and further into my school endeavors it feels as if I have a constant internal fight to not leave things to the last minute. There are things you wouldn't even imagine to find stressful in the "normal world" that are present while living at school. Something as mundane as not making my bed before going to class is a stress that plagues my mind almost every morning.

At the end of the day, I, personally, manage to pull through and achieve all of the things on my never-ending "to-do" list. Below I've tried to display 8 different stress/anxiety-related feelings or scenarios that I deal with on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis:

1. When you have a test in a few days, and feel guilty that you don't spend every waking moment studying.

2. When you have a lot of homework that's due, but your friends want to hangout.

3. When you have to be up at 7:30am for class, but you're so tired since you went to bed at 2 for no reason at all, and you then contemplate ditching.

4. When you're going out and have absolutely nothing to wear because you forgot to do you laundry.

5. When you tell yourself that you won't wear sweatpants to class every day, but realize you have no stamina or motivation pick out anything else to wear.

6. Being constantly afraid to shower because you fear that a fire drill will happen.

7. Realizing that it's 11pm and you haven't eaten since 11am, but you're out of luck since the dining hall has been closed since 8 - so you resort to ordering unhealthy options.

8. Wanting to take advantage of the free gym on campus, but realizing all of the other obligations getting in your way.

And that's only eight anxieties! If I really went into detail, I'd probably have to publish a full novel. Hopefully after reading this, you'll see that the life of a college student isn't the easiest thing in the world and you can give us credit where credit is due.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
