In the semester of Spring 2016, I had the honor of working on the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World. I worked as a Quick Service Food and Beverage cast member at Cosmic Rays in TomorrowLand in Magic Kingdom. The Disney College Program, or DCP for short, is an internship open to college students to give them the opportunity to work in many of the different roles available at either Walt Disney World or DisneyLand. Here are 8 reasons why you should do the DCP.

1. It's A Paid Internship

The big concern when looking at any internship is whether you will be getting paid or not. Good news, Disney pays students on this internship.

2. Resume Building

Any resume would be lucky to have the Disney name on it. Disney is a Fortune 500 company that would look great on a resume.

3. You Get Into The Parks For Free

Yes, you heard that right. If you work for Disney, you can get into the parks for free. This is huge for any Disney lover. On your days off, you can just casually go roam around Magic Kingdom.

4. Living In Disney Housing

Disney provides fully furnished apartments for the college program participants to live in while they’re on the internship. Just like any other college, you will have roommates, but trust me when I say, these roommates will become your family while you live there.

5. Networking

No matter what role you’re working in, you will have leaders that you will be able to network with.

6. Diversity

Disney hires people from all over the world. Literally. While domestic students are on the Disney College Program, Disney also runs an International College Program for students from all over the world.

7. Other Fun Attractions In Orlando

Disney is always magical, but sometimes a break doesn’t kill you. There’s plenty of other fun things to do in Orlando, besides Disney. Like Universal Studios, SeaWorld, the Florida Mall, the Orlando Eye, and much more.

8. The Friends You Make

I made so many amazing friends on my program that I still keep in contact with today. I mostly owe my roommates to helping me get through my program. They became my family that would always be there for me whether I had a good or bad day. The friends you’ll make are what help make your program magical.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

The Unwritten Rules Of "Talking"

What is "talking?" How does one "talk?"

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
