Not only is she the woman to give you life, she's the greatest human being on the planet.

Here's why:

1. She knows you better than you know yourself.

When you're feeling down, you don't even have to tell her why. She just knows what's wrong with you. When you're being indecisive, she's the one who will tell you what the right decision is. She knows the choices you're going to make before you even make them.

2. She will always be there for you when no one else is.

Your mother is the greatest when it comes to having your back. She's better than most friends when it comes to being loyal. She's the only one who will lie for you and not think twice about it. If you were to murder someone and needed help hiding the body.. mom is the one to call.

3. Sick? She'll nurse you back to good health.

For some reason, when mom takes care of you, every remedy works. Her soup is the best. Her tea is the best. You can always count on her to have the right medication. She just knows what will make you feel better.

4. She's the best "wing-man."

Who's better than mom? No one. She will make you sound like the world's greatest person. She has no problem telling people how great you are because well... she made you. She will stretch the truth to help you get what you want in life.

5. She really DOES know best.

The phrase, "mother knows best," is beyond accurate. She does. No matter what the situation, she will always give you the best advice. She won't tell you exactly what to do, but her words will imply it. She will hope for only the best and pray you take her words into consideration. Honestly, no one knows better than she.

6. She'll listen to you vent all night long.

She'll listen. ACTUALLY listen. She'll make sure to hear you out. If you're frustrated, she'll be frustrated with you. If you're upset, she'll wipe your tears away. If you hate someone, she'll trash talk them with you.

7. She's a lifelong cuddle buddy.

Mom's cuddles are the best cuddles. No matter how old you get, you'll always be her baby and she'll always let you crawl into bed with her. She's the one person who will never turn your cuddles down. She'll make you feel safe, always.

8. She loves you like no one else does.

A mother's love and affection compares to no other. She will love you unconditionally. She will make sure you know you're loved too. It doesn't matter how many bad decisions you make, mom will never judge you. She will always be proud of the human she raised. She'll tell you everyday how much she loves you.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.
