8 Reasons Why Your Dog Is Your Best Friend

I've had five dogs in my life, three with me now. Growing up surrounded by dogs all the time I have to say that a dog is the best friend that anyone could ask for.

Here are eight reasons why your dog is your best friend:

1. Always there with you.

No matter what, your dog will always cuddle up and be right next to your side. If you're happy, they're happy to be there with you. If you're sad, they're there to cuddle up next to you and make your tears go away. If you're mad, they'll probably look at you with those puppy eyes and I'm sure you won't feel mad anymore.

2. Sleeps with you

You're pup will always be down to climb into your warm bed versus sleeping on some cold floor or an uncomfortable puppy bed. They'll always cuddle up to the back of your legs or right next to you. They'll always be the one to sleep next to your side.

3. Never judges you.

No matter what you do or what happens with you, your pup will always love you. The choices you make will not affect how much your pup loves you. You never have to question if a decision is going to effect the love your dog has for you. Your dog will always care about you no matter what happens to you or with you.

4. Always happy to see you.

Whether you walk in the door from leaving your pup eight hours or two minutes, they are always happy to see you. That feeling of coming home being missed is a great feeling and your pup always gives you that. They know when you're leaving and I'm sure they get all sad, but as soon as you walk through that door, they're always happy to see you just like you never even left.

5. Your personal vacuum cleaner.

How many times a day do you drop things on the floor and just call your pup to come "clean it up"? If any food is dropped on the floor you can surely bet that your pup will come running to clean it up for you every time.

6. The best passenger

Now, I don't know about anyone else but I absolutely love taking my pup on trips with me. It could be all the way up to school or just to the store, I love having my pup on drives with me. A pup is the best passenger to have with you. They're always happy to be sitting up front with you and starring out the window watching what's going by.

7. The best model

You know that every time your pup tilts their head, licks their lips, or even just scratches the back of their ear, you just need to capture that moment of them. And I'm sure that most of your camera roll is pictures of your pup because you just love taking pictures of them so much. Overall, your pup is probably the most photogenic and you love taking their picture.

8. Just overall your best friend.

No matter what, they'll always be down with you to just lay in bed on the Saturday when you don't feel good or take that walk with you to get some exercise. They'll be ready to lay in bed and watch movies or binge watch Netflix with you. They'll be okay with just laying in bed with you in complete silence. More positively, they'll always be down to have a sleep over in your bed with you. They're the most loyal friend you could ask for. They'll be there through it all: college, best friend drama, boyfriends, just life in general. Your pup will always be your best friend.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
