There are so many Christmas movies out there, but not many movies about Hanukkah. In a country derived from diversity, it is rather sad that there are barely any Hanukkah movies. America knows a ton about Christmas and about leaving out cookies for Santa, but Hanukkah remains a question. People wonder why Jewish people don't believe in Santa or celebrate the birth of Jesus. People wonder why Jews don't get in the Christmas spirit, wear an ugly Christmas sweater and embrace what the holidays are really about. A lot of Jewish celebration during this time of year remains a question. But why should we let Hanukkah remain a question? Why not educate people on what Hanukkah is really about? The movie industries make a ton of holiday movies because they know it will attract a large portion of the American population. Why not make money off of a good Hanukkah movie? Here are eight reasons why we need more Hanukkah movies:
1. There are barely any movies that have anything to do with Hanukkah:
There is Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights, but that is about it.
2. Some people do not know what Hanukkah is:
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday celebrating a miracle. Isn't that a beautiful concept?
3. There are barely any Hanukkah movies so Jews resort to watching Christmas movies instead to get in the holiday spirit:
These movies put you in the holiday spirit. Not going to lie.
4. Some people do not even know that Jews don't buy a tree for their house:
This just doesn't look right.
5. What about a Hanukkah bush? Is that a thing?
No. That's why we need more Hanukkah movies to explain this.
6. Some people think there are Hanukkah ornaments:
This is only a way to say, I guess Jews can get in the Christmas holiday spirit, but not celebrate Christmas.
7. People don't know why we celebrate:
We celebrate to remind people of this miracle. See, Tommy is excited about it.
8. People ask if Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday:
Does Star of David ring a bell?
Hanukkah is such an amazing Jewish holiday. In fact, my favorite. Not because you get presents for eight nights in a row, but because of the miracle behind the holiday. Unfortunately, many people do not know anything about Hanukkah. People are confused with what the holiday is all about. They assume it to be the Jewish Christmas, which is wrong. These are only a few reasons why we need more Hanukkah movies.
