8 Reasons Why It's OK To Be Single

Happy couples everywhere. That's how it seems. I know sometimes you may look at cheesy posts on Facebook or Instagram where people are happily in love and although you think you need it, you really don't. For a long time, I tried finding happiness in another person and I realized that happiness starts with myself. So for all of those people out there who are wanting a relationship, keep in mind that you really don't need one and that you're only stressing yourself out for no reason. It's totally OK to be single! Here's why:

1. You Don't Have To Spend All Your Money.

Think of all the money you're saving when you don't have to worry about buying things for another person. Holidays, birthdays, dates; the list can go on. But it adds up quickly! Be happy that you have the extra cash in your pocket.

2. Flirting

You can flirt with whoever you want! It doesn't have to be anything serious and it's fun. See that guy behind the counter at Starbucks? Go bat your eyes and flip your hair. Cause you can!

3. No Heartbreak

Let's be honest, a lot of relationships end. Heartbreak can destroy you beyond repair and even though it's a part of life, you don't need to put yourself through that right now.

4. No Drama

All couples fight. Relationships are never perfect, so there will be problems somewhere down the line. Be it either a small issue or something big, it happens. And when you breakup, forget it. It's even worse. Honey Boo Boo gets it:

5. More Time For Friends And Family

While in a relationship, our friendships with others tend to suffer. I have had friends kick me to the side for a relationship and I am no longer in contact with them. But when you're single, you can make more time for your family and your best friends. Go do something fun!

6. Alone Time

Everyone needs time alone to either think or to just relax. Sit down on the couch in your pj's and watch Netflix or listen to music. With all the craziness that life can bring, it's nice to have time to unwind.

7. Work On Yourself

It's really important to focus on yourself before you are with another person. Get in shape, treat yourself to a pedicure; anything. Always remember, it's important to love yourself first.

8. Learning To Be Independent

Never rely on another person to support you or provide you with happiness. Learning how to be independent is extremely important. Fly on your own for a while and you'll realize just how strong you really are.

Putting all of that aside, someday you will find that person you want. But don't stress too much over it. There is more to life than dating, and it's important to always keep that in mind. So, if you're single, it's okay, because after all, you don't want anyone clipping your wings. Live life and have fun!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
