If we're lucky, most of us have a few really good friends. They entertain us, pick us up when we're down, and support us when we need support. However, some of us have someone who is more than just a really good friend. Some of us have a Lauren, and trust me, if you don't have one, you need to get a Lauren in your life.

1. Your Lauren will know EVERYTHING there is to know about makeup. Everything.

Seriously, this girl's makeup is always on point. She turns putting on false eyelashes into an art form. And when you go out at night and wanna look good, she'll give you the smokey eye you never dreamed you deserved.

2. Your Lauren will have an appreciation for all things 80s.

If you're lucky enough to get a Lauren, she'll revere 1980s cinema with you like no one ever has before. Her impression of Christian Slater's character in "Heathers" will have you rolling on the floor laughing. If you're lucky you'll get to listen to her critique every outfit Molly Ringwald wears in "Pretty in Pink." You'll get distracted from the actual plot, of course, but it's worth it.

3. She will travel across states with you to see your favorite semi-local band.

It doesn't matter if that band plays the same 80s hits literally every time you see them, because like I said, your Lauren will love all things 80s. She'll go with you to amusement parks hours away and hike around for five hours just waiting to see them. And it will be awesome, like it always is.

4. She shares your disdain for children.

I mean, she's not heartless or anything, but let's be real, kids are annoying. She can appreciate the rare sweet, well-behaved child while secretly wanting to punt the one tearing things apart across the room. She also agrees with you that babies are not cute. It's not an affront to you, parents: THEY JUST ARE NOT.

5. Your Lauren will accept your boyfriend with open arms.

She may even be a little extra friendly; i.e., jumping in the front seat of his car before she's even met him in person. She'll be so fun and chill around him that your boyfriend will eventually refer to her as "the coolest girl he's ever met." And you'll be okay with the fact that he insinuated that you aren't as cool as her, because you know it's true.

6. You can talk to your Lauren about anything.

When it comes to your Lauren, nothing is too weird or uncomfortable to talk about. You have boundaries, of course, but they become less and less defined as time goes on. Weird thoughts and feelings don't drive your Lauren away. Typically, it makes you closer because you both have the same weird inner dialogue!

7. Your Lauren will be honest with you.

Your Lauren isn't perfect, sure, but one thing she will never do is lie to you. Ever. She'll tell you if an outfit doesn't look good, or if your new perm makes you look like Weird Al Yankovic, She'll give you real advice if you're having trouble with your boyfriend or other friends. She won't sugarcoat things; if something sucks, she'll admit it. She'll tell you.

8. She'll be the friend you never thought you'd have.

Your Lauren may turn out to be someone you just met, or she may be someone you've known for a really long time, but you just never ran in the same circles. It may be your love of "Catcher in the Rye" and "The Great Gatsby" that brings you together, or your very similar (essentially identical) political views. However you find your Lauren, don't let her go. She's a one-in-a-million kind of friend, and you'll never have another like her.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
