Textbook in one hand and a coffee in the other: a look sported by almost every college student on campus. I know coffee is something I drink every day, and I witness all my friends and peers (and professors, too!) drinking it on a daily basis as well. Coffee is the ultimate pick-me-up, which makes it so essential for us college students who stay up late every night doing homework, studying and shamelessly watching Netflix and YouTube videos. This magical caffeinated drink is arguably the best thing that’s ever happened to college campuses around the world – and here are some reasons why that’s true.
1. It helps us power through those 8 a.m. classes.
8 a.m. is a pretty dreadful time – especially when you stay up until 3 a.m. and still have to have to go to class in the morning. Coffee is the best way to make those early classes bearable and start your day off on the right foot.
2. And those late night study sessions during finals week.
When finals week rolls around and everyone is up pulling all-nighters, coffee will indeed become your best friend. How else would you power through 24 hours without sleep? I have never personally been a fan of all-nighters, but all those nights I’ve stayed up way past my bedtime (come on, we totally all still have one) to get work done, coffee truly saved my soul.
3.
It gives us a push to actually be productive.
Sometimes it’s hard to stay attentive when you’re trying to get work done somewhere quiet on campus. Drinking coffee is the ideal route to take when you need incentive to do work.
4.Going to a cute coffee shop with your laptop is always more reason to do homework.
Going to the library can be pretty lame and dreary. Switching up the atmosphere by doing homework in a quaint café will be the greatest stimulant.
5. A cup of coffee + cute, organized notes = perfect touch to your Instagram aesthetic.
If you’re an Instagram addict like myself, you might be a tad obsessed with keeping up with your aesthetic. A picture of coffee will never fail your beloved followers – trust me on this one.
6. More caffeine, more energy.
Caffeine (which coffee contains a lot of) is a quick and easy way to gain more energy if you don’t have the time to take a nap in between classes. Need I say more?
7. It’s always readily available for us – so why not?
I’ve been on my fair share of college campuses, and I have never seen one without some sort of coffee shop. Whether it's a Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks or some other coffee supplier, there’s always some place to get the magical drink. So why not drink it?
8.
It tastes amazing
Seriously though, nothing is better than the way coffee tastes. It’s definitely an acquired taste, but most people start to like it once they're attending college. But if you’re still not a fan of coffee by the time you’re in college, there’s always some fun caffeinated drink on the menu that you’re bound to enjoy!
