Most of us now know him as the almighty Kylo Ren from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," but Adam Driver has a history of successful indie films, being in Broadway productions, and giving back to a community that truly matters. Here’s a list of reasons why Adam Driver is one of my favorite people at the moment!
1. He’s an incredible actor.
Although he hasn’t won any big time title awards just yet, Driver is being more and more recognized now for what he is: a talented, prestigious actor with nothing but the best of his career ahead of him!
2. He performed in Broadway productions.
Every actor has a great “I moved to New York to pursue acting, while being a waiter to pay rent” story.
3. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps after 9/11.
After only serving for almost three years, Adam Driver broke his sternum while riding a mountain bike and was soon medically discharged.
4. He runs a non-profit organization with his wife.
Arts in the Armed Forces is a group of actors that travel to military personnel to show troops how important expression and thought through theatre can be helpful. Adam and his wife Joanne Tucker created the organization several years back.
5. He attempted to move to California after high school.
After graduation, Driver wanted a jump start on his career so he set out for Hollywood from his home in Indiana. However, by the time he got there, his wallet was empty and he ended up only staying two days before moving back home.
6. He studied at Juilliard.
Driver admits going to Juilliard had its highs and lows and was a great learning experience from both sides. He studied drama and also conceived Arts in the Armed Forces while attending school there.
7. He’s a lead role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Adam Driver plays a badass, force thirsty, temper-tantrum-throwing villain named Kylo Ren who wants nothing more than to be as powerful as Vader.
And lastly...
8. He’s a beautiful man.
I mean. Just look at him. From the luscious flowing hair to his tall stature, Adam Driver is one talented and beautiful man. There's no doubt he has a fan-club, but if he doesn't, I will soon be starting one.
