"Sense8" is a show that touched the hearts of many around the world. One that solidified that no matter how different we think we are from each other, we are all still human. If you haven't gotten the pleasure of watching "Sense8," I hope that you have at least heard of it and if you haven't then let it be my pleasure to tell you about it.

1. It’s original.

It’s no surprise that the show is immensely creative seeing that it was created by the Wachowski Sisters, Lana, and Lilly, who also created well know films like "The Matrix.” The show is about 8 strangers from different places around the world who suddenly find themselves connected to each other and forced to fight off government officials who threaten their livelihood.

2. It’s more than a show.

There are countless accounts from fans of the show who express how much the show truly meant to them and how they were able to connect to because of how it is geared to everyone. It has been an escape for many people who feel trapped within their community by being inclusive and exploring controversial topics that not everyone may get to discuss in their daily lives proving that it’s more than just something to watch to pass time.

3. The fans are amazing.

On June 1st, 2017, thousands of Sense8 fans around the world were devastated to find out that Netflix had canceled one of the most progressive shows to date. The cancellation didn’t stop the fans from rallying together to demand an ending for the show. Petitions were created, single flip-flops were mailed (watch the show, you’ll get the reference), and hashtags were created to ensure that the show got the closure it needed. Each fan leaning on and strengthening one another as well as their actions touched on the unity that the show promoted and showed that the fans belonged more than just a fanbase but to a family.

4. The soundtrack is amazing.

I promise you that by the time you finish the show, you won’t be able to stop singing “What’s Up” by 4 Non-Blondes. The soundtrack within itself is a masterpiece and the songs that play while we get to watch the characters telepathically communicate with one another are ones you’ll immediately add to your playlists.

5. The scenes are iconic.

The show is packed with so many diverse scenes ranging from love scenes to action scenes to many more others, regardless of whatever scene plays it is guaranteed that it will be iconic. Just take a look at this groundbreaking heartwarming scene down below:

6. The characters are phenomenal.

The characters are all exhibit the epitome of empathy, seeing that they are literally living in each other’s show. The characters are well fleshed out and show that anyone can work together regardless of who they are and where they come from. The storylines of are honest people and although they aren’t perfect, they’re real. The characters are diverse and include positive representation including an LGBTQ+ representation that made sure the characters were more than their sexualities and the stereotypes they faced.

7. The cast is even more phenomenal.

One of the main reasons that the characters are so great is because the cast members that play them believe in the story and believe in the message that the show promotes. The cast members get along with each other so well it’s not a far-fetched thought that the love that the characters have for one another is a mirror of the love that the cast mates have for one another.

8. It promotes love.

The show promotes a type of unconditional love that’s rare to see in action. You’ll be able to watch pure love on the show during a time in our society when it’s much needed. The show displays that love comes in all forms and is a great reminder for people who sometimes feel an absence of love in their life.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
