Everyone has those bad days and sometimes we just need that little thing to make us smile and make our day better and brighter. Smiling has a direct mind-body connection because it triggers activity in your frontal cortex of the brain, which then registers as happiness. Smiling can make you happy, can make people around you happy, and helps you distress, too. There are plenty reasons in the world to smile, but here are just few.

1. You smile, others smile

A smile is a very contagious thing. It's just like yawning and when you see one person yawn, you have the urge to yawn, too. It's the same with smiling. I think the world deserves a couple million smiling faces. Don't you?

2. It releases endorphins

Endorphins are the chemicals that the body releases, which interact with the brain receptors and can reduce pain. It can also bring more calmness and positive feelings in the body. It is a natural feel good chemical

3. It relives stress

From the minute we wake up, we start our hectic day filled with plenty of stress, and we all know stress isn’t good for the body. So, why take stress medication when your body can naturally help you reduce stress with the help of your smile?

4. It boosts immune system

A smile is known to boost your immune system because, after all, our body, mind and spirit are all connected. If they are all in good shape our immune system will stay better, too.

5. It is attractive

Smiling automatically makes anyone attractive. It is proven that more people base someone’s attractiveness based off of their smile. First impressions are often based on a person's smile because smiling makes anyone look warming and welcoming. Why do we smile in our pictures instead of frown? Because smiling makes us look more attractive, duh.

6. It makes you look younger

Why go for Botox injections and face lifts when it just takes one smile to lift your face and make you look young?

7. It makes you creative and more productive

People who are happier are known to have a better approach to problem solving, their ability to think outside the box and better decision-making. It is due to the fact that when you smile dopamine is released, which brings you happiness and a better outlook on life.

8. Smiles are free

Happiness isn’t only found in materialistic things, it can often be found in little things such as a smile and the things that make you smile. There are plenty of reasons to smile for in this world, so smile often because it is free. It is you taking charge of your happiness at no cost at all.

So smile your heart out because you don’t know who is going to be falling in love with your smile and how many smiles you are going to be spreading around you!
