8 Reasons To Get Excited For Christmas

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I am beyond ready for Christmas. I am so excited for the holiday season this year because Christmas is such a happy and magical time. Sipping on hot chocolate, baking cookies and spending time with family are only some of the reasons why I can't wait for the holiday. Below are 12 reasons to get excited for Christmas.

1. Christmas Music

Okay, so I'm the type of person to listen to Christmas year round. But something about how everyone else is listening to music gets me pretty hype.

2. Family

Spending time with family is so awesome! Something about having all your cousins under the same roof makes me feel like everything is okay. It's like one huge sleepover!

3. Christmas Food

Candy canes, cookies, hot chocolate and more is already making my mouth water. Need I say more?

4. Christmas Movies

In my family, watching the Hallmark channel nonstop and having a Harry Potter movie marathon is tradition. I love those cheesy movies about as much as I love the holiday itself.

5. Presents

Picking presents out for people is one of the sweetest forms of love for me. It gives you a chance to reflect on memories you have with that person and make something fun out of an inside joke. Wrapping presents is a different story, though. I am the worst at wrapping presents but I love the process of it.

6. Decorations!

I love lights. Like, I really love lights. They just add that magical touch to everything and make anything look like a winter wonderland. One of my favorite things to do around this time of year is decorating the tree. Each year, my family will put on The Polar Express and begin decorating the tree.

7. Winter Weather

Being from Oklahoma, you don't know if you're going to have snow or not. But when it does snow, it is truly magical. And for those that aren't particularly fond of the snow, you'll know it'll melt by the next morning.

8. The Christmas Spirit

Christmas truly is the most wonderful time of year. It's that one time around the year where everyone comes together to partake in festivities. Everyone is so joyous and spreading cheer. Christmas has always been about joy and giving, and I wish everyone had the Christmas Spirit year round.

Christmas is my favorite holiday because of all the joy. The spirit of the season really shines through! Like I've always said, the saddest day of the year for me is December 26th. Merry Christmas, everyone.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
