Nerds have been considered as, up until recently, very undesirable people. Contrary to this idea, I've found them to be among the most loving, understanding and desirable people on this earth. Here's eight reasons why you should always choose the nerd:

1. They worship you.

Dating the nerd is a different experience because they aren't like the players. They haven't been trained to get only one thing from a girl. If the nerd is with you, he's there because he likes you on the inside, and that shows.

2. They're thoughtful.

He's going to think of every detail. Dating a nerd is a nice change because he'll think before he acts. Nerds are analytical, they can sense how you're feeling and anticipate how to resolve it for you.

3. They're fun.

The good nerds spend a lot of their time playing video games and watching movies. Dating the nerd gives you the best of both worlds because you have an adult man who plays no games, but who also enables you to reminisce in your childhood.

4. They love wholeheartedly.

Basically every video game or movie with any real story line involves romance. Nerds don't need to get around your entire school to know how to treat you right, because they've been learning about real love their whole lives.

5. They text back.

It might take ten minutes for his League of Legends match to be over, but you won't be competing with 20 other girls for his attention on a Saturday night.

6. They're hilarious.

Dating a nerd is never dull. Their jokes are usually pretty vulgar, and you might get sick of the endless references to internet memes and Claptrap from Borderlands, but you wont be bored.

7. They're great cooks.

Nerds were the unintentional inventors of hangover food. From a young age, they stayed up all night playing video games, and without their parents to make them something to eat at 3 a.m., they had to get creative. A nerd is someone who will never cook you something healthy, but who really cares?

8. They're underdogs.

Everyone loves a good underdog story, right? Nerds are the ones who society tells us are undesirable, but when they becomes successful- that completely reverses. It's extremely wrong to overlook someone their entire life until they're deemed desirable by society's standards.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
