8 Reasons Why This The Best Time Of The Year

The last few months of every year are my favorite- not summer like you would expect. Yes, during the summer you're out of school (sometimes... *cough cough* thanks college), but it's also the dreadful Louisiana summer. You walk outside for two seconds and you start sweating. It's almost too hot to breathe. It's definitely too hot to wear anything except running shorts and t-shirts. This time of the year just offers so much more than sweat and sunburns:

1. Football Season

I, myself, am not a fan of football, but I know just about everyone starts anticipating this time of the year as soon as the season ends again.

2. The Weather

In the mornings, it's around 68 degrees, which is a little cold at first compared to the above 100 degrees we were experiencing this summer (I turned the heater on in my car the first time the temperature decided to dip a little lower). It brings a nice, refreshing feel though, and gets you in the mood for what's happening in the next few months.

3. Decorations!

Decorations are everywhere now: Thanksgiving, Halloween,Christmas. There are wreaths, pumpkins, costumes, ornaments, Santa hats, turkeys, pie plates, mums and the list goes on and on. There's nothing better than going into to Target and staying for hours just to browse the decor they have this year. It's such a great way to end the day.

4. Seasonal Movies

All your favorite childhood (and adulthood) shows and movies finally return to TV. I know I look forward to Hocus Pocus, the Halloweentown series, The Grinch and Elf.

5. Food

You better just throw your diet out the window right now.You know you want that Halloween candy just as much as the kids. You know it won't matter when Thanksgiving and Christmas come around. You have to have a sample of everything and maybe even seconds. Just thinking about the ham, turkey, dressing and pies makes me happy.

6. The end of the semester is visible.

As of right now, there's only seven weeks of school left. We're on the home stretch, guys. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to that month long break.

7. Cute Clothes

Cute clothes for everyone! Flannels go for both men and women (and you know men look great in flannel). We can finally start wearing our scarves, booties and sweaters, and try out those outfits we saved on Pinterest.

8. Pumpkin Patches and Tree Farms

What great places to take cute pictures, and they smell great! Plus, I still like picking out my own pumpkin and tree. Out of my way, tiny children.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
