8 Ways You Know You Picked The Right College

Everyone says college is the best four years of your life! You get to make choices for yourself and have all the freedom you could have ever dreamt. College is where you make countless memories and have some of the best times. When it comes to picking the college you belong at, you will know and here is how:

1. Move in day is the best day. It's better than your birthday and Christmas.

That's saying a lot, considering everyone loves when it is their birthday and Christmas. Move in day is the best day because you are excited for what this year has to bring. The new memories, new friends, and a new start. You are leaving home and being an adult, you are finally living your life.

2. You call your dorm room your "home."

When you get back from a long night out with friends or even get back from class and somebody asks you if you got back safe you will respond saying, "I got home safe," even though it is just your small dorm room you are referring to. That little room will turn into the home that you never want to leave.

3. Your friends become your best friends that become your family.

They say you meet the best people in your life in college. Those people you will see yourself with everyday, doing everything together. It is weird if you go a day without seeing them. They become your family away from home.

4. Breaks are too long, and the school year is too short.

You would have never said this before going to college. Yes, everyone loves being home and reuniting with their high school friends and seeing their family. Catching up with people from your past is always nice, but leaving your new "home" for more than a couple days sucks. You always want to be there and do not want to be home for too long.

5. You argue with your high school friends about which college is better.

Of course, your college is the best. However, you defend your college with everything in you. You do not let anyone talk bad about your college and you find every reason you can come up with why your college is better than your friend's college.

6. Coming back from breaks to your campus feels like you are coming home.

The feeling of coming back from a long break is the best feeling. It was nice to have a little break, but coming back to your friends and your twin size dorm room bed is the best feeling.

7. You have made best friends that get you and you know you will have the rest of your life.

You have met some of the best people at college. You have never met people that get you more until now. They are the people that became your family, the ones you see having as friends the rest of your life.

8. You just know, you have the gut feeling.

Walking around campus, you just know it feels right to be here. You could not imagine being on any other campus at the end of the day. It is a feeling that you can not explain to anyone, just a feeling that you know this is where you belong.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
