My closet is 99% black clothes. I constantly get comments on my Wednesday Addams appearance and my response never fails to be, “thank you.” Every time I go shopping, hoping to add a little color to my wardrobe, I always end up getting more black. I constantly find clothes I like that come in multiple different colors and inevitably end up with the black version. I love black clothes more than anything. Here are eight reasons why it is the best.

1. It is slimming.

Whenever I’m having a rough day, whether it be bloating or too big of a lunch, I can always count on a black t-shirt dress to make me look like a million bucks.

2. It matches with everything

I always find myself buying colorful accessories including jewelry, shoes, and even different colored lipsticks. In most cases, it is hard to find something that matches, but with my charcoal-colored selection of clothing, I never struggle finding the perfect outfit.

3. It camouflages stains

I am a mess when it comes to pretty much everything. It is not a normal day in my life if I didn't spill something and I can always count on my black garments to hide it all as long as it is not deodorant because that is the bane of everyone's existence.

4. It is great on every skin tone

I have yet to see anyone that can’t rock black. I am the palest of the pale and black is always flattering no matter how pale I am that day and everyday.

5. Instant maturity

Black has a way of making anyone go from 13 to 30 in the best way possible. Whenever I throw on my favorite black blazer I instantly feel ready to take on the world. I feel like I could nail any job interview no matter if I had no clue what I'm doing because I'm rocking black.

6. It works in every season

I know not everyone may agree with this but just hear me out. Fall is a great time to wear black because fall colors look great with black. Winter is a great time to wear black because it is warm. Spring is a great time to wear black because it is flattering and can hide the weight gained during winter hibernation, and finally summer is a great time to wear black because it can match with some crazy floral prints unlike some colors

7. It can be layered

Black on black on black is the greatest color combination there is. I am a huge fan of rocking black tights, with shorts or a skirt, a cute shirt, and a scarf or a leather jacket. This outfit combination has a way of making everyone feel hardcore and stylish.

8. It will never, ever go out of style

Black is completely timeless. Most styles go in and out as people change their tastes but black has been stylish since the beginning and will continue to be forever.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
