8 Reasons Why I Hate The Kardashians
Complex

We can't escape them. We all have heard about them. They are on covers of magazines and are constantly fighting on TV. But why? They don't really do anything (aside from behaving demented on their show) and yet have all the fame and glamor. They really do personify the word ostentatious. But are they really deserving of where they are today? Did they reach this platform respectfully? I think not. Here are a few reasons why I hate the Kardashians and why you should too.

1. What do they do???

Are they actors? No. Singers? No. So why are they famous? Because they let a bunch of cameras follow them around while they do stupid stuff. And why are people interested in their lives? Because Kim made a sex tape. Wow. What a great and respectable way to earn a living.

(Side note: Khloe Kardashian made a video about how to put cookies into a jar and it got 2.3 million views. How. To. Put. Cookies. In. A. Jar. Talk about having no talent).

2. What is up with their bodies?

Ok let’s just say it. What is up with their butts and boobs? I mean they are so big I could use them as a bookshelf. Isn’t it wrong that they promote unreal bodies and make young, impressional kids believe that having unnaturally large body parts is beautiful?

3. They have a reality show

Ok anyone who lets cameras follow them for the majority of their day in their private home filming them do crazy things like giving their sister a Brazilian wax gets zero respect from me. I mean, they make it so hard to respect themselves if they act with no dignity!

4. They are models

The infinite reasons as to why I hate models can fill up another article by itself but the bottom line is: they get paid millions to do one thing: walk. How is that fair?! They wear clothes that other people designed and walk on ramps that other people built but yet they get all the attention??? I thought it is right for people to earn money based on how hard they work. But what do models do? They walk. And to walk 50 feet, they get paid millions. Sigh.

5. They will do anything for money and attention

How many endorsements do the Kardashians have? A thousand? Do they really care about the products they endorse? I highly doubt that. Not only that, I’m sure everyone has seen the extravagant lifestyle they lead. Wearing cringe worthy clothes and driving around in sports cars, the Kardashians are known for opulence and excess. Maybe they should start saving because with their shallow life, I doubt their millions will last long.

6. Narcissism!!!

How many times have the Kardashians been accused of photoshopping the images that they post on social media? Whether it is making their boobs bigger or erasing the fat on their limbs, the obsession they have with themselves is cringe worthy. I mean there are so many better things to do that to sit and erase fat on photos of yourself. Sigh.

7. The 72 Day Marriage

Do I even need to elaborate? Such a cry for attention

8. Their stupidity!

Kim went and got X-rays of her body just to prove to the world that she didn't get cosmetic surgery (but honestly who believes this?). Kylie doesn't know how to do laundry. Khloe Kardashian's only talent is putting cookies in a jar. Sigh.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
