8 Reasons I Hate Christian Radio

My eight pet peeves when it comes to Christian radio.

Ever listen to Christian radio stations? I do and have since I was young. Here are some of my pet peeves when it comes to Christian radio:

1. You know every song on the radio because they haven’t changed since you were 10 years old.

2. When you get into the bible belt you know there’s only two radio options: country and Christian radio.

3. K-Love is your parents' go-to station.

4. When a new song is released you judge it with all of your being.

5. When your non-Christian friends get in the car you feel the need to explain why a song from 2000 is still playing.

6. When that song hits you just right and you start going through it in the car.

7. You try and participate in the 30-day challenge but all of the songs are THE SAME.

By day two, you are done.

8. Pledge Drives.

There's always one day when you need to hear an encouraging song but, the pledge drive is happening. No songs play for the duration of the day and you seriously contemplate your religion...

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
