8 Reasons Why It's Great Having A Brother

1. You always make me laugh

At least once a day, there is something that makes me laugh and it usually involves you. It might be something you did or something you said, but you always find a way to get me laughing.

2. You will always help me with the heavy stuff

At 15-years-old, you're a pretty strong guy. It's great to have you around because when that grocery bag is too heavy or my suitcase has a few too many clothes inside, I know you will be able to lift it!

3. I get to wear your sweatshirts and sweatpants

I don't know if it's just me, but I find boy's sweatshirts and sweatpants so comfortable. Having a brother who is eight inches taller than me is a great thing because all of his clothes are huge. It's great having a nice pair of sweats or an oversized t-shirt to sleep in.

4. Sports are a big part of my life because of you

You were always the athletic one. Every Friday or Saturday night, you would be at a football game playing your hardest. Every Sunday, there is football on the tv. Now, sports consume half of my life because they are a big part of your life.

5. I get to tease you about the little things

There are some things we all do that our siblings will tease us about. I have you to tease and of course, you will tease me too. We fight and scream, but that's what siblings do.

6. I know you'll never leave

As much as I hate to say it, you're stuck with me and I'm stuck with you. However, it's great to have someone that is so secure and permanent in each other's lives because there's no backing out now!

7. I don't feel bad about eating your food

I know your name was on that Chinese leftover box or the buffalo chicken dip you made for yourself, but no, I don't feel bad about eating it. It's great to have a brother who won't get mad, and instead, makes more!

8. I can count on you

If I'm sick, I know you'll help me and make me some nice chicken noodle soup. You've always got my back and I appreciate that.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
