Meredith and Cristina are always seen as #friendshipgoals when it comes to the many friendships on Grey's. But the most underrated friendship of them all is by far Meredith and Alex, probably the only two on the show who haven't been romantically involved (yet). Here are 8 reasons why every girl needs an Alex Karev to her Meredith Grey.

1. She's the only intern in the group who's nice to him at first

Believe it or not, golden boy Alex Karev was hated by the rest of his intern class in the beginning of Grey's but Meredith was always just a little bit nicer than the rest of the intern class. She even lets him live in her house when he needs somewhere to live and nobody else wants to live with him.

2. They have each others' backs

If that's not the epitome of a guy and girl's friendship goals then I don't know what is.

3. He steps in as her "person" when Cristina leaves Seattle

Cristina and Meredith were attached at the hip and came to each other whenever they had a problem with anything from boys to their family. When Cristina moved to the other side of the world, Alex gladly accepted the role of Meredith's "person" and helped her whenever she needed it.

4. She was his "best man" in his wedding

Who needs an actual man to be your best man when your best friend is a girl? Meredith steps in as Alex's best man in his wedding to Izzie in season 5.

5. He stays in Seattle and turns down Johns Hopkins for her

After the plane crash and Mer tells Alex "Everyone is leaving and everyone is dying" and she needs him and that she wants him to stay, instead of getting on a plane, he stays in Seattle and takes the fellowship position in Seattle instead to stay with Mer because she needs him.

6. He never left her side when she was attacked by a patient in season 12

Even though he had a girlfriend at home, he never left her side through the weeks she spent in the hospital after getting attacked by a patient. He stayed by her side and talked to her even when she couldn't hear and then even when she couldn't speak because her jaw was wired shut. Then, when she can finally leave, he makes sure she's okay at home and stays with her afterward.

7. He doesn't make her talk when she's upset if she doesn't want to talk

In season 12 when Meredith sees Penny for the first time since the end of season 11, she won't talk to anyone about it. Instead of trying to pry her feelings out of her, Alex sits on the bedroom floor with Meredith and a bottle of tequila and waits for her to want to talk to him about it.

8. He puts their friendship above his relationship no matter what

When Derek leaves for DC, Alex is there for Meredith, even if that means she comes into his house in the middle of the night and kicks his girlfriend out of the room to talk to him about whatever is bugging her. Even when Jo (his girlfriend) gets angry about Meredith constantly coming over, he never tells her to stop and instead tells Jo that she's important and that their friendship is important and if she needs him, he'll be there no matter what.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
