One of the greatest things a human can experience is love. Love from family, love from friends and love from significant others, surrounds us and supports us as we attempt to messily make our way through life. With loving a significant other, we tend to gravitate to those that have the same values and ideas as us. However, regardless of what those values and ideas are, you definitely need to date a person who travels for these eight very specific reasons.

1. They are flexible.

A traveler knows that sometimes things just can’t work out. Evening plans go awry, planes get delayed, the weather is a pain and things just go wrong. In order to have a good time, positivity is the key and a willingness to make other plans is necessary for any successful trip and date.

2. They have an open mind.

Chances are, your significant other has tried some crazy stuff while traveling in Europe or the Far East or even the back-country of Kentucky. Don’t put snacking on cooked scorpions past them cause there is a very high chance that they have done it. In order to do these things, a level of open mindedness is essential, which carries over to their dating life. Want to try that new Thai restaurant down the street? They’ll be up for it, no problem.

3. They are respectful and considerate of those in other countries.

To get by in any foreign country, a person has to have a level of respect for the people and place that they are visiting. You are a guest and being rude will not get you far when you are lost in the middle of nowhere. People who travel often know this. They will be the first to tell you that knowing “thank you” is one of the most important phrases to learn in a foreign language and even just a simple smile can bring about a positive outcome. Dating a person who understands these key facts about traveling and life will lead to a healthy and happy relationship.

4. They are always up for an adventure.

Hey remember that one time you wanted to go to that amusement park, but all your friends wanted to Netflix and chill instead? That won’t be a thing with someone who loves to travel. New places excite them, so you will always have a partner for those days that you want to live it up.

5. They strive to avoid boredom.

Travelers can’t sit still in one place for long. Boredom is one of their worst enemies. In order to combat the everlasting need for adventure, they are always looking for things to do. They will constantly challenge you with new experiences, which will never get old.

They have a passion for life and living in the moment.

6. They know that life is a gift and time is precious.

A person who travels understands these two facts. They know what it's like having to say goodbye to new friends, places and experiences that may have brought out the best in them. You and your time will not be taken for granted since they understand it’s a finite source. They know the sacrifices you are making to be with them, as they making similar sacrifices for you.

7. They have fun stories to entertain you with.

You can almost guarantee that a person who travels has stories. They will use them to charm you and your parents. Some might be a little raunchy, but you will never be left stuck at a table with the same old boring dinner dialogue.

8. Your dreams will not go unheard.

When you tell your traveler partner that your wildest dream is to go to the Outback and see Uluru at sunrise in Australia, you will not be unheard. In fact they will sit there and plan out the trip. These are people who are constantly looking for the next grand adventure and you are the biggest adventure that they are investing in. Your travel dreams will become their travel dreams, because slowly as they fall for you, they will make you their priority. And going to Australia sounds like the perfect way to do what they love with whom they love.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
