8 Reasons Bree Van de Kamp Was The Best Character On Desperate Housewives
ABC

Obviously Desperate Housewives is kind of “old news” since the last episode aired in 2012, but it was still one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. All of the housewives had some great and hilarious qualities that make it hard to pick a favorite, but I have to say that Bree Van de Kamp seriously just gave me life on a regular basis. Here’s why:

1. Her obsessive-compulsive perfectionism

From keeping a spotless house to hand-baking everything from scratch, Bree always keeps up perfect appearances. Her perfectionism may be a little neurotic at times (ahem, like when she finishes polishing the silver after learning that her husband just died); however her lifestyle turns into a successful career when she writes an award-winning cookbook.

2. Her discomfort with public emotion

Bree's cool demeanor is so relatable for anyone who gets awkward about emotion, not to mention hilarious.

3. Her very candid feelings on public transportation (which everyone secretly agrees with)

Have you ever taken the bus at 1 o'clock in the morning, Renee? It makes you want to stop believing in God.

4. HER MUFFINS

No matter what the situation, Bree Van de Kamp just wouldn't be complete without a basket of fresh muffins to share.

5. Her attempts to understand teenage lingo

The disconnect between Bree and her children accurately sums out how a lot of older generations probably feel about millenials and also reveals how hilariously formal Bree is, even in how she speaks.

6. Her department store scene, also known as the most hilarious rock bottom anyone has ever hit

Bree's drinking problem takes an all time low when she drinks herself into a stupor and passes out in a department store dressing room, which results in her getting locked in. Props to Bree for having the funniest blackout moment ever!

7. Her smile of death

Bree can do a bitch smile like no other--her ability to shame people into silence with one stare is actually so impressive.

8. Her indisputable badass-ness

Bree's cooking and cleaning hobbies are rivalved only by her impressive gun collection, and she certainly isn't shy about exercising the Second Amendment.

Bree obviously has her shortcomings (like the fact that she made both of her children hate her) but she literally made the show when it was still on TV. Besides, anyone who has that amazing of a hair evolution (that awful flipped-end look in season one to sexy waves in season eight), automatically deserves the title of best desperate housewife.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
