WMU is home to many freshman girls and there are many realities that they face every day; so if you've ever lived there at all, you'll probably understand these references to life in the WMU dorms.
1. Looking forward to a new stall street journal every week.
and being disappointed when they don't put one up for like, THREE WEEKS IN A ROW (because let's be honest, we all look forward to Rachel's puns and Trent's answers to the most random questions.
2. Anything and everything randomly breaking or falling down all the time.
you name it: toilets, washers, dryers, the dishwasher... it's a common occurrence.
3. The power outlets and the electricity seem to have a mind of their own as well.
you never know when the next power outage will strike, but it's usually at the most inconvenient time possible.
4. Leaving your door open so that your friends/hall mates can pop in whenever they please.
it's another distraction and another excuse to not do your homework because educating your friends about New Girl is SO much more important.
5. Satisfying your late night munchies by going to the vending machines and buying ALL of the junk food.
you'll regret it tomorrow but this is now and boy does a Twix bar sound pretty good right about now.
6. Coming back to WMU after 1 am when it's freezing or pouring rain outside and you remember you can't go in through the side doors.
we just want the quickest way to get in the door and back to the warmth and coziness of our rooms.
7. Forgetting about quiet hours are earlier Monday-Thursday than they are on the weekend.
I can't tell you the number of times I've yelled very loudly at the most ungodly hours of the night. Sorry to literally EVERYONE on my hall.
8. Anytime you see your RA, whether that be in the dorm, in class, in public, etc. you freak out because they're literally the coolest person alive.
I can name numerous occasions when this has happened. For example: my RA is a theatre major. She was a main character in a show. I may or may not have ran out and hugged her as soon as she finished the show.
