What seems to be a series of copycat pranks is spreading across the country like wildfire. As if we don’t get enough grief from the clowns running for president, there are now actual clowns strolling around terrorizing innocent people. Well, not actual clowns, just people dressed like clowns. Creepy ones, I might add. I have no idea what possesses someone to dress as a clown just to scare people, but I suspect that the attention these stories are getting in the media might be a contributing factor. The bottom line is that this is not funny. Some clown encounters are turning violent, and some people are legitimately terrified. I hope that the people behind this have the sense to stop before they hurt themselves or others. In the wake of a possible clown sighting on my college campus paired with several reported sightings in our area, students like myself are trying to make light of the situation. Here is a list of the real, and sometimes humorous reactions people are having in regard to this creepy clown craze.

1. There are clowns?

Not everyone has social media or follows current events. Those people might be a little out of the loop on this. My advice to them would be to stay out of the loop. You’ll have more peace of mind.

2. Run for your life

Some people are deathly afraid of clowns, even the normal ones. They are the ones crying and praying that the creepy ones don’t show up in their town. These people are gone the second you mention clowns. Don’t expect them to defend you if you do come across one.

3. Take every precaution

Hide your kids, hide your wife. You better believe my roommates and I locked all the doors and windows after we heard there were clowns nearby. I’m not much of a worrier, but this clown mania is freaky.

4. Clown hunting

Apparently the logical reaction to a clown sighting (mostly for college students) is to go find the clown. I’ll pass, but if that’s where you get your kicks and giggles I’m not going to stop you. And what the heck are you going to do if you find one?

5. If I see one, I’m not messing around

Some people are armed and prepared to fight and possibly harm any clowns they see. All I can say to the creepy clowns is don’t give anyone a reason to attack you!

6. Just take me now

There is another whole group of people who are so stressed out about life that they wouldn’t even flinch if a clown came after them. That’s just sad.

7. How do the professional clowns feel?

Based on this article from INQUISITR and the “Clown Lives Matter” movement that is emerging, I’m guessing that they’re not thrilled.

8. Halloween is approaching, which clowns can we trust?

It’s true, #NotAllClowns are creepy killers trying to lure us to our deaths. I feel genuinely bad for those who make their livings as professional clowns, as this must be detrimental to their businesses. I also don’t think it’s a good year to dress as a clown for Halloween, as the current attitude seems to be “Trust no clown.”

To the creepy clowns: stop the nonsense. To everyone else: be safe out there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
