Summer is so close and yet there is just one more obstacle to get through. One big, ugly, obstacle. Finals week is here ladies and gentlemen... and if I may ask, how much studying/preparing have you done this far? If you're like me or many of my friends, not very much. Sometimes we just need a little inspiration, right? Well, look no further my dear, here are eight very encouraging quotes that will get you in study mode!

1. Leo is here for you

Isn't this just every girl’s dream? Leo is here, honey, but only if you keep going and study study study! First, I drink coffee. It is no secret that caffeine is what gets a majority of us through the school year. We tend to double the intake around finals week, and with good reason. So, get yourself some coffee and do those things.

2. Don’t be afraid to fail

Gotta throw a sappy inspirational quote in here somewhere, right? Being afraid to fail finals is a very rational and very prevalent fear. You can almost smell the fear radiating off of students on campuses all over the world in our final days of the semester. As long as you can say you tried your best, you can’t do anything more.

3. Pain is temporary, GPA is forever

While your GPA may not really follow you through your whole life, it does last your whole student life. Studying may be a pain and seem unbearable but at the end of the day you and your GPA will be grateful you decided to skip out on your third nap for the day and open a book instead.

4. Meredith Grey = Goals

Meredith could not have become a badass surgeon and marry McDreamy by spending valuable time binge-watching Netflix. You can bet she had her nose in a book and passed her tests. Want to be a badass like Meredith? Step. Away. From. The. Netflix.

5. Put your brave face on!

Even Michael Scott, the “World’s Best Boss”, has those moments where nothing goes right so you just pretend you’re fine. Finals might have you scared or uneasy, but put on your brave face when you walk in. Just make sure it looks a tad more natural than his and you'll have more confidence!

ADDED INCENTIVE TO PASS: Pass your finals and you’re one step closer to becoming world’s best boss.

6. Survive now, cry later

Survive the intensive studying and pass the final before you take the time and energy to cry about it. This is important for two great reasons. First, trust me, you don’t want to get tear smudges on your notes because you’ll never be able to study them then. Second, save your tears for when you’re walking across the stage to get that degree!

7. Good luck to those reading this LOL

And, a final good luck to all those scouring the Internet for inspiration to study rather than actually doing it. I opted out on studying to write this article so I’m in the same boat. Yay for college, am I right?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
