Are you tired of hearing the same questions, same topics, and same discussions over Thanksgiving? Or tired of the silence and hearing people chow down? Well I have created some things you could bring up in order to have the perfect thanksgiving dinner conversation.
1.) Ask every person how each family member has blessed them this year.
This is a perfect way to start off with encouragement and really see how your family has blessed each other throughout the year.
2.) If you could only eat one food on this table for a year, what would it be?
Whether it's the turkey, potatoes, or the dessert, this question is a fun conversation starter and it is also a great way to thank the cook.
3.) If this was your last thanksgiving, what would you want to say to everyone?
This is a little deeper question, but it can really be intimate and a great discussion if you are genuine.
4.) What is the funniest thanksgiving memory you have?
Nothing beats hearing stories in your family and just laughing and reminiscing about all the good times. This a great question which can probably last a while.
5.) What famous person would be the most fun to have at this meal?
This is kind of one of those fun "what if" questions. You'd be surprised what your family members might say.
6.) If you had one hundred dollars, and it had to be spent on someone at this table, who and what would it be?
Another fun "what if" question that can be funny, encouraging or strange. You decide!
7.) Who do you miss the most today who can’t be here?
Whether you had a family member pass or just someone couldn't make it, it is important to appreciate those who are not there.
8.) What are three things you are thankful for this year and why are you thankful for them?
The typical thanksgiving question, but it is extremely important to discuss everything that you are thankful for. It really puts everything into perspective.
These are just some ideas to get the conversations started to have a intimate thanksgiving dinner. Happy thanksgiving!
