8 Problems People In Long Distance Relationships Know Explained By Sam And Dean Winchester

There are many iconic couples on television, such as Marshall and Lily on How I Met Your Mother, Meredith Grey and Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy, and of course Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation. However, in my long distance relationship, I cannot relate to any two characters more than Sam and Dean Winchester on Supernatural.

1. Sometimes technology makes communication difficult

How an average Skype call happens:

"How was your day?"

"What?"

"How Was Your Day?"

"What?"

"HOW WAS YOUR DAY?"

2. No one questions when you do annoying couple things

Doing normal couple things is already a big deal, but being able to actually do something cute together is huge. So do not judge if we want to take a million pictures whenever we are together, go on a cheesy date, and participate in WAY too much PDA; we just missed each other.

3. Small fights are 10x worse when they are over the phone

It is a lot harder to yell at your significant other when they are looking cute and sad, but when they are just an annoying voice on the phone and you're mid rant-- they better get comfortable because this is going to take awhile.

4. When you can finally see them after weeks or months apart

Either you are dancing up to them or running towards them and jump-attack them and hope they catch you. No matter what approach you choose, you will look ridiculous either way. But who cares? THE PERSON YOU LOVE IS FINALLY HERE!

5. All distractions go away when they are with you

Sick earlier today? Not anymore because you're too busy thinking about snuggling and watching your favorite show. An essay due at 11:59? It is 11:58 and is the last thing on your mind. Best friend being horribly mean? Already forgotten. Love is always the best medicine.

6. When you are on the phone and you forget that you are so far away

Talking for hours upon hours sometimes ends up with forgetting the phone is even there and makes long distance not all that hard.

7. Saying goodbye and pretending to be fine

You do not want them to know you are sad, but you are dying inside seeing them go. It feels like a part of you is going with them.

8. It is all worth it

Your communication and trust is better than any normal couple, you both can grow independently as people, you have an outside perspective for any friend drama you can have, and if you and your significant other can survive this- then you can survive anything.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
