8 Problems that Affect Women Every Day
Bustle

Men will never understand the issues women face every day. While some say that woman are "emotional", we actually just have a lot to deal with and we constantly have a million things on our minds.

1. Periods

Men do not know the amount of stress this week puts on us. From planning our outfits, dealing with cramps and bloating, and not to mention figuring out when it is going to happen, it is the worst time of every month.

2. Lower wages

Believe it or not, as of last year women only make 80 cents for every dollar a man makes.

3. Feminism

Feminists have a terrible reputation. We have been called "emotional", "hot-headed", "irrational", and many other insulting names. People have also criticized feminists saying that we either have nothing to complain about, or that we are complaining about too much and we need to pick one subject to focus on.

4. Our appearance

Everyone has an opinion on what women "should" look like. It is constantly in magazines, TV, and other forms of the media that women should be thin, tall, and have perfect hair and makeup 24/7. As all women know these are impossible standards. Yet, the media still tells up that we should have a "thigh gap" and a smokey-eye every day. We're also expected to have trendy outfits, with perfect shoes, jewelry, and an expensive purse. While men just have to have pants and a shirt with buttons and they're ready.

5. Weaker gender

Old stereotypes say that women are the weaker gender. Although, according to Facts from Fiction, childbirth can be equivalent to fracturing 20 bones at once. It can also last several hours.

6. No Power

It is pretty common knowledge that women do not hold a lot of powerful positions. According to the Center for American women and Politics (CAWP), as of 2015, women hold 104 seats in Congress (out of 535), 20 women are in the Senate, and 84 are in the house of representatives.

7. Emotions

Men constantly say that women are too emotional. There are disgusting examples in the media of men saying that women cannot work in high pressure jobs because of their periods, emotions, and their "drama". But let's be honest, is it so bad that women feel things differently than men? Maybe we are more emotional but that does not mean we are less qualified for any job.

8. Families

Men never have to worry about children the way women do. When women in politics are interviewed, reporters constantly ask where their children are or who is taking care of them, Something male politicians are never asked.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
