People come to a large building or yard and sit for a really long time and watch other people throw and hit things.
This is the reality of sports in America.
1. Soccer
Soccer players run around on the grass with a ball, tapping it into a large net across the field to score. Games often last hours for this to happen one time.
2. Football
Players run around on the grass moving as little as a few yards at a time to carry the ball to the end of the field to score.
3. Basketball
Players go to the other side of the building and drop a ball into a hoop to score. It would be too simple to ask the players to carry the ball across the room, so they hit it on the ground multiple times as they walk with purpose to increase the difficulty of the game.
4. Swimming
Swimmers go back and forth across a large bathtub and try to do it faster than the people next to them.
5. Baseball
Players often miss the flying object thrown towards them, but when they do hit it they run around in a square, ending up back where they started to score. Whichever team has the most people run around the square wins.
6. Ice Hockey
Players slide around on frozen water hitting a black circle into a net, avoiding the person standing in front of it.
7. Boxing
Boxers hit each other and stay on the ground for 10 seconds to lose.
8. Golf
Players hit a ball into a far away hole 18 times.
These simple activities often take years of practice to perfect. Sports aren't for everyone, but if you can move your arms and legs really well you can earn a lot of money in America.
