Some people say poetry is dead, but I believe it's making a comeback, especially with contemporary poets. It's also true that poetry can help us understand emotions we can't quite label yet so here is a list of poems to read when you're feeling a certain way:
1. When you're feeling sarcastic
"Pluto Shits on the Universe"by Fatima Asghar
2. When you're feeling sentimental
"From Blossoms" by Li Young Lee
3. When you're feeling confused about love
"On Earth, We're Briefly Gorgeous"by Ocean Vuong
4. When you're feeling alone
"Mental Health" by Yrsa Daley-Ward
5. When you're feeling simply happy
"Isn't that Something?"by Rumi (pages 5-6)
6. When you're feeling nostalgic
"Little Sleep's-Head Sprouting Hair in the Moonlight"by Galway Kinnell
7. When you're feeling doubt about today's world
"The Unknown Citizen" by W.H. Auden
8. When you're feeling lost about your place in the world
"I Go Back to May 1937"by Sharon Olds
