Winter break is here for us students all across the nation, which means time is ticking to take advantage of the free time we'll have. Four weeks of winter break (or less, depending where you go) goes by faster than you can say and spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Los Angeles may seem like a big city to some, because in fact it is, but seems like a small city to others. Whatever the case is for you, whether you see it as a big or small city, there are a lot of places to visit and a lot to do in the city of angels. Here is a list of eight places you can go visit (if you haven't already, and if you have, you can go again).:
1. The Civic Center

The Civic Center is a nice place to stop by whenever in downtown L.A. Look around a take a deep breath to appreciate everything around you. Personally, I prefer to go at night to see the fountain light up and change colors; may be cheesy but it feels awesome.
2. Grand Park

The Grand Park in downtown L.A. is also another great spot to go to and relax during the day. A lot of people like to go enjoy picnics with their families or friends during the weekend but during the winter break I say go any day you'd like.
3. The Last Bookstore

The Last Bookstore is another spot located in downtown L.A. If you enjoy a good read, this place is for you. You can also enjoy the complete uniqueness and hipster-like vibe this bookstore gives while visiting the store. Plus, the books are cheap, which is a plus!
4. Runyon Canyon

If you're big on hiking, Runyon Canyon is a great place that offers both a lighter path to hike on and a harder path for you hiking enthusiasts. Plus, the view is pretty great.
5. Little Tokyo

Little Tokyo is located near downtown and offers shops, restaurants and more. There's great sushi, mochi (Japanese ice-cream), souvenirs, and more to enjoy in the area.
6. URBAN LIGHTS (AKA LACMA LIGHTS)

The Urban Lights is great to visit during the day and night. It's a great place to get the selfies in and have a little photo shoot of your own. If you decide to go during the day, you can always pass by the LACMA museum.
7. L.A. LIVE

L.A. Live offers an ice skating rink during the month of December, restaurants, a movie theater, a bowling alley, etc. to enjoy with your friends and family. But, if you decide to go ice skating, remember don't risk your life by taking a selfie in the middle of the rink with others passing by without paying attention to you posing.

If you're into contemporary/modern art, The Broad Museum is a great place to visit during the break and don't forget to take photos of everything while being there to share on your Instagram!
