Saying I love you is a big step in a relationship, whether it be with your significant other, friend, or family member. For me, those three words have so much meaning to them, and I never take that lightly. However, there are other ways of saying I love you that is not quite so serious, but has the same thought and love behind it. You don't have to stick to those three words to express your love. It can be done with a simple action, question, comment, etc. All you have to do is listen! Here are eight simple ways to say I love you.
1. It reminded me of you.
This is one of my favorite things to hear because they saw some random object that you have a very slight connection to, and thought of you. That is literally the sweetest thing ever. "I saw an apple and thought of you because you love apple pies." How precious!
2. I'll walk you home.
Yay for people who want to make sure you get home safe! The world is a dark and scary place sometimes, and they just want to help by walking you home. So simple, so important.
3. You can have half of it.
Everyone knows I love my food so if you hear me utter these words out of my mouth, you know it's real. I don't share with just anyone, they have to be worthy of my generosity.
4. Watch your step.
I trip and fall more than I like to admit, but it's a great feeling when someone tells you to watch your step, and you don't end up face-planting. A jolly good old day for all!
5. Do you want something to drink/eat?
If you hear this, it basically means that they care if you are starving or dying of thirst. So sweet.
6. Put your seatbelt on.
Cars are dangerous pieces of metal that are sometimes operated people who are not qualify to hold a driver's license, yet they do anyways. PUT YO SEATBELT ON. I don't want you to die if we get in a car accident, cause I don't want to live a life without you! So, do it.
7. Do you need anything?
This can apply if someone is sick or just got dumped or literally anything. How about a hot beverage, or a nice, fuzzy blanket? You want some tissues, or a pint of ice cream, or both? Hint: always get both in case of a break up.
