Sometimes we students need to take a break from the studying and the homework to do something completely pointless. It's a crucial part of surviving college. Many times we throw the responsibility of break time on Netflix. But what if you don't have time to watch a complete episode of something? What if you actually want to do something that still requires some thought? That, my friends, is where the wonderful world of simple online gaming comes in. Whether you have some time to kill between classes, or simply want to avoid all of your responsibilities for a little while, the following free online games are sure to keep you entertained for a while:
1. Sugar, Sugar.
While the goal of this game is simple, the solutions to each level are not always as such. The point is to get the granules of sugar into the mugs by drawing lines on the screen. Different-colored sugar goes into different-colored mugs. It couldn't be more clear cut, but it certainly can be challenging!
2. Einstein's Riddle.
This is for any of my fellow puzzle lovers! This is Einstein's famous riddle, uploaded into the form of a flash game. There are five different color houses. You need to figure out where each house goes, and who lives in which house, along with what each individual drinks, smokes and chooses to keep as pets based off of the 15 clues provided. Can you solve it?
3. Geoguessr.
This game utilizes Google Maps. It drops you somewhere in the world, and you have to observe your surroundings to figure out where it is that you are. Look for national landmarks, architecture styles, or anything to give you clues as you move around the map. This is the perfect game for any wanderlusty soul.
4. Shiritori.
Shiritori is a word game from Japan. The task is to think of a word that begins with the last letter of the word your opponent chose. You can verse either a computer or a friend. The longer the word, the more points you earn, which are subtracted from your starting total. The first person to get to zero wins!
5. Z Type.
What better way to hone your typing skills than to use them to blow up stuff? In this game, you must type the words attached to different asteroid-esque things flying towards your ship. Type the words correctly, and you shoot the threat down. Misspell the words, and the consequences could be devastating!
6. Drench.
Another puzzle game for people who like a challenge! The player must use the paint buckets on the side of the screen to change the color of the blocks on the board, starting with the top left. The catch? You only have 30 moves to do it.
7. Curvy.
Curvy puzzles are made up of a grid of hexagonal tiles. The purpose of these puzzles is to connect the same-colored ends together, leaving no loose ends. Curvy also gives the player the opportunity to change the complexity of the puzzle by changing the number of hexagonal tiles in each row and column, as well as making the puzzle itself more dense.
8. Cryptograms.
A personal love of mine is Cryptograms. Each letter of a quote has been swapped for another. It is up to the player to figure out which letter is standing in for another in order to decode the message.
