Crown For Christmas

Danica McKellar pulls off what I say is my new favorite Hallmark movie. Crown for Christmas just debuted on Thanksgiving, and it certainly won me over. A hotel maid suddenly finds herself half way across the world to take on the job of being a nanny, but a nanny to whom? A royal princess! How exciting, right? Not… Princess Theodora ends up being a brat who has chased off every nanny, and plans to add McKellar’s character, Allie, to her list. Will Allie be able to pull it off the job or just be another name on Princess Theodora’s list?

Family For Christmas

Is that Gretchen Wieners? Yes, it is! Famous for her role as Gretchen in the classic movie Mean Girls Lacey Chabert is definitely a member of the Hallmark family as she premieres in yet another great Hallmark movie. Lacey plays a woman named Hanna Dunbar who is a thriving news anchor with minimal time for dating or even thinking about a family. While passing a dressed up Santa on the street Hanna makes a comment wondering what life would be like if she had married her high school sweetheart Ben Matthews. Hanna wakes up in the morning to find her thought having come true. Will Hanna be able to escape her wish and return to a life of cameras and scripts, or will she fall in love with Ben all over again not to mention their two daughters?

A Christmas Detour

Candace Cameron Bure is known for starring in a new Hallmark movie each year, and this year’s movie was no exception to how great she is! A Christmas Detour is about Bure’s character, Paige, who is flying to NYC to meet her fiancé’s parents for the first time. A huge snowstorm hits and Paige is stranded in an airport with the annoying guy that was seated next to her on the plane. Will Paige ever make it to New York?

A Very Merry Mix-Up

Alice, who is played by Alicia Witt, is on her way to meet up with her fiancé’s family for the first time when her phone gets damaged, and the airline loses her luggage! She bumps into a guy who she believes to be her fiancé, Will Mitchum’s brother, and rides to his house with him. With no available contact with Will, Alice settles into the house with whom she believes to be her future in-laws, but what will happen when Will finally returns her call to find out she’s with the wrong family? Make sure to watch and find out!

Christmas Under Wraps

Last year’s Christmas Under Wraps, was certainly a hit for Candice Cameron Bure and David O’Donnell. Burke plays Dr. Lauren Burnell who needs an out-of-the-box residency for her resume. When the only place left to go is a small remote town in Alaska, will she be able to adjust? Will O’Donnell’s character Andy help make Dr. Burnell's stay easier, or will his secret put her over the edge packing?

A Cookie Cutter Christmas

Erin Krakow plays a school teacher named Christie Reynolds. While she is trying to impress one of her student’s widowed father she finds herself accidentally entering a cookie bake-off against a co-worker with the same plan. Will Christie be able to win the cookie competition and win the heart of James? Or will her and her cookies slowly crumble in defeat? Yes, it’s a little corny, but isn’t that why we love Hallmark movies?

Snow Bride

In Snow Bride, Katrina Law plays Greta Kaine, a tabloid reporter whose next big story is all about a Senator’s family staying in town for the holidays. Are the Senator’s sons dating? It’s Greta’s job to get the scoop. Coincidentally, she gets lost in the woods and stumbles upon a cottage where Ben, one of the senator’s sons, was staying. While becoming the family’s guest for Christmas can Greta really open up about who she is, and write the article that can solidify her career, or will love triumph instead?

Merry Matrimony

Jessica Lowndes plays a young woman named Brie who has landed a job organizing the perfect Christmas wedding. This assignment is everything Brie has worked so hard for, and could land her the promotion she so desperately seeks. But will it all get messed up when her ex-boyfriend Eddie, a phenomenal photographer, get paired up together? Can Brie and Eddie work together as partners, or will their feelings for each other come back and jeopardize everything they’ve worked for?

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
