2017 was a great year for movies. But 2018 has some pretty exciting ones coming to theaters.

2017 has been a great year for movies. Wonder Woman made her way onto the silver screen for the first time, we found out who Rey’s parents are, and Spiderman came back for the third time (third time’s the charm, right?).

While conducting research for this article, I found the list of upcoming movies for 2018, and we are in for one exciting year. Here are my top 8 movies that I’m excited to see in 2018.

(I will probably miss a few, sorry.)

1. "Avengers: Infinity War"

I think every Marvel fan collectively had to pick their jaws up off the floor when the first teaser for this movie dropped. I mean, the MCU has been building up to this movie pretty much since the first "Iron Man" movie. I remember being hyped to see Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Spiderman in "Captain America: Civil War," and now we get the Guardians of the Galaxy in that mix? I’ve got my popcorn ready for this.

2. "The Incredibles 2"

How long has it been since the first one? Almost 14 years? I remember getting a Happy Meal toy of Mrs. Incredible when the first one came out. It certainly took them long enough to tie the loose ends from that cliffhanger.

3. "Ocean's 8"

Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, and Sarah Paulson in the same heist movie? Sign me up.

4. "Fantastic Beasts 2"

I’m excited to see what happens to each of the characters we were introduced to in the first "Fantastic Beasts"movie. Plus Dumbledore’s going to be in this one! I’m excited to see how they tie in Newt’s story with Grindelwald and Dumbledore.

5. "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again"

The first one is one of my favorite movies to pop in when I’m having a night in. Hopefully, they get to sing other ABBA songs besides the ones we heard in the first.

6. "Solo"

I’m looking forward to seeing Han’s backstory since it isn’t exactly seen or discussed much in the other current "Star Wars"films. I’m also eager to find out exactly what the Kessel Run is and how Han made it in 12 parsecs.

7. "Black Panther"

I’m interested in learning more about Wakanda and the story behind the Black Panther. Based on the glimpses we’ve seen from "Civil War" and the "Infinity War"trailer, it looks absolutely gorgeous. I loved all of the scenes Black Panther was in, and I can't wait to see him in action in his first solo film.

8. "Love, Simon"

I haven’t read the book "Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda" yet, but I’m planning on it. I’m just excited to see an LGBTQ love story on the big screen that’s not portrayed as a big deal and (hopefully) doesn’t end in heartbreak.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
