I have always had chronically dry-skin. I mean, the type of dry skin where I apply five different moisturizers and still be flaking-dry by noon. The type of dry skin where as a child I was covered head to toe in pure Vaseline and would be dry less than a day later. When I became older, finding makeup products that don't completely dry out my already bone-dry skin became very difficult. Many foundations, concealers, and powders are designed to stop oily skin from appearing oily. These products are very popular because they work-- but for people with oily skin. Here are the top skin care and makeup products that I use that don't turn my face into the Sahara desert.

1. Sheet Mask: Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask

I always loved the idea of sheet masks, but all those marketed toward dry or sensitive skin for intense moisture were never worth my money. When I tried this one, though, it really worked for my skin. With ingredients like chamomile flower water, marine collagen, witch hazel, and cactus extract, all natural fixes for dryness, this mask always leaves my skin refreshed and ready for some serious hydration.

2. Moisturizer: Pond's Dry Skin Cream

This stuff is classic. It is cheap and simple, but really effective. If you use this after the above or any face mask you like right before bed, I promise you will wake up with hydrated skin that looks much healthier than before.

3. Primer: Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

This primer really helped lock in moisturizer, as well as keeping my face from not drying out throughout the day. It has known hydrating ingredients like coconut water, probiotics, and "skin revivers."

4. Foundation: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

I get it. It is extremely expensive. Who wants to pay sixty-four dollars for a foundation? I tried almost every medium-to-full coverage under the sun. But, I always come back to this foundation because it works. With other foundations, the product gathers over my dry patches and flakes off within ten minutes. The Luminous Silk, though, gives me coverage and evens out my dry texture; I can't tell I have dry skin when wearing it. I'm happy to spend the extra money on my foundation if it works with my dry skin.

5. Concealer: Too Faced Born this Way Concealer

Powder bronzers will dry out your skin fast. This contour stick, or cream contour color, is great because it goes on like a cream which can hydrate your skin but has a powder finish.

7. Highlight: Benefit High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter

Same as the philosophy above, powder highlights go on beautiful, but in about thirty minutes turn extremely patchy and don't carry as much sparkle and shine. This liquid face highlighter is super glowy, but still natural, and is a cream highlight. I like this because of I can put it on my fingers and apply to specific areas of my face, plus that makes it easier to blend.

8. Setting Spray: Urban Decay Chill Cooling & Hydrating Makeup Setting Spray

Just like it says, it cools and hydrates the skin while also setting your makeup so it stays on all day. I love this stuff!

So, if you suffer from terribly dry skin like me, try these products! I promise, at the very least, you'll realize that the majority of your makeup bag are products meant for oily skin. Makeup is not one-size-fits-all. Just don't forget to thank me later!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
