8 Life Lessons Taught By Kobe Bryant
NBC

Kobe Bryant elevated the NBA to another stratosphere. So much so that in the US, China, Spain, or anywhere you go, you can shoot crumpled paper in the trash and people will automatically think: KOBE. His time on the court has now past so if you're heartbroken and destroyed like me, and are sadly pouring over Kobe footage, these life lessons from him will help ease the grieving process and leave you motivated.

Always give people reminders.

Count out rings you've won in your career or give 'em a physical copy of your resumé - no matter what, remind people you're dope AF. People forget about greatness, so always help others jog their memory.

Cool off from time to time.

Stay hot but remember to pass the ball and play nice with teammates while on the job. You can't be in Black Mamba mode all the time. Accolades will come, young Kobe.

Make space for what's important.

In life, people will be in your business or ask for your time with 50,000 events (usually on the same day). Sometimes you have to create some space for what's most important to you.

Don't flinch.

Why be prey when you can be the predator? Destroy the souls of your foes. #ShowNoFear

Cultural capital is key to success.

He's fluent in Italian, mastering Spanish, hosts camps in China and has a huge global network. Kobe is a global icon and a prime example of how to make your brand worldwide.

Flex for your flans.

Fans help you grow and build no matter what field you're in, so when you're doin' good let em know. #TheGunShow

Sometimes you gotta fake left to spin right.

If going baseline doesn't work, spin and hit the corner jump-shot in your arsenal. I swear Kobe uses cheat codes...

Always leave as a legend.

After you dominate, always go out on your terms. #LegendaryStatus

Thanks, Mamba!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
