You're never to old to learn from a carefree kid.

8 Lessons I Learned From An 8-Year-Old

Kids. At some point, we were one of them, and now we’re either their caretakers or secretly admiring them from afar. When I hear the word “kid,” I automatically think carefree. Unfortunately, I’m betting most of us adults don’t associate the word carefree with our lives. That’s because too often, we get caught up in the midst of chaos—worrying about finances, stressing over exams and assignments, and taking on way more than we should.

In comparison to kids, they sort of have it all figured out, seeing as their responsibility is limited. While it’s true that they still have a lot to learn, most of us can learn a thing or two from them.

So here’s eight lesson’s I learned from my 8-year-old brother:

1. Bathing is optional. Even if you spent the entire day running around in the sun, a shower is not a necessity.

2. Forget about a healthy diet. No reason to worry when you could have ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Did I mention you'll save money?

3. No need to pay for a cell phone bill when you can simply use walkie talkies. Let's be honest, most of us really only want to talk to one or two people anyway.

4. Sleep deprivation is not a thing since taking random naps throughout the day is not only normal, but encouraged.

5. It's easy to make new friends, especially when all you need to do is walk up to them and say, "Wanna be friends?"

6. If something important goes missing, like your keys or wallet, don't fret because it's most likely a prank. When you're eight, isn't everything?

7. Never worry about those dirty dishes piling up because you really shouldn't need to use any at all. Eating off of a paper towel is as appropriate as it gets. Also, if you get thirsty, a juice box will do just fine.

8. Why spend money on fancy gadgets like a MacBook Pro or a tablet? Instead, you can just buy some Legos. It's half the price and twice the fun.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
