Ever had those times where you and your friends suddenly have the desire to go out and eat a very satisfying meal? Then you spend about an hour or so Yelping and searching up where’s a good place to eat? If so and you’re in Portland, Oregon then here are a few places to hit up.
1. KIVA CAFÉ.
Kiva Café is near one of my favorite streets in Portland — NW 23rd Street. I ordered a Royal Bowl for only $8.75 with a side of Hazelnut Latte and it was really worth it for the size and taste. They also sell Vietnamese sandwiches for lunch and a lot more!
2. Carioca Bowls.
Carioca is another cute açaí bowl restaurant located on Alberta St. Although I’d say the portion is not as big as Kiva’s, their bowls are pretty delicious too.
3. Jim and Patty’s Coffee People.
Jim and Patty’s is a great breakfast or lunch stop. I really like their Hazelnut Praline Latte and their breakfast sandwiches. My friend ordered a pastry, which also tasted delicious!
4. Waffle Window.
I was walking down Hawthorne Blvd when I started craving for some waffles and coffee. I walked to Waffle Window and I think I ordered a classic one and added vanilla ice cream on top. Then, I walked to Peet’s Coffee & Tea which was right around the corner and ordered another hazelnut latte.
5. Pambiche.
A Cuban restaurant located on NE Glisan Street. I remember Kevin and I were arguing about places to eat and he made an executive decision to drive to Pambiche whether I'd like it or not. I ended up liking it!
6. Mojo Crepes.
A cute dessert place on SE Division Street, where people can hang out and play pool and what not. Boba and other foods are also sold here.
7. Pine State Biscuits.
Pine State Biscuits is a local restaurant in Portland where they sell southern food such as fried chicken, biscuits and gravy. Pine State has three branches and all three usually have a long wait, depending the time of the day you go. I usually just call in and ask how long the line is. Reggie Deluxe and a cup of sweet tea is what I usually order.
8. Screendoor Restaurant.
Like Pine State Biscuits, Screendoor is another local restaurant that pretty much sells almost the same thing, but with bigger portions. Likewise, the line is usually long too. I remember waiting for an hour and half after church on a Sunday — my mistake on that one.
