8 Life Lessons We Can Actually Learn From The Kardashians
Huffington Post

Whether you love them or hate them, the Kardashian hype does not appear to be dissipating at any point in the near future. This fun, quirky, and self-obsessed family has been the center of attention for quite a few years and although many wish they would disappear, the Kardashians need to be given credit for the valuable life lessons they have inadvertently taught us along the way.

Here is a list of eight life lessons that we can actually learn from the Kardashians:

1. Hard work precedes talent.

Say what you will, but the Kardashians have worked hardto get to where they are today. They don’t sing, they don’t dance, but they do look great posing naked, and they really shouldn’t be criticized for exploiting that. These women overbook themselves, working 24/7 to make sure that they can get their face on every single magazine cover, advertisement, poster, or campaign that they possibly can. I understand that they didn’t exactly “start from the bottom”, and I’m aware that their fame can mildly be attributed to their famous father and Kim’s sex tape—but if those were the only reasons they were so successful, they would have become irrelevant years ago.

2. Your past does not dictate your future.

Kim Kardashian took an enormous betrayal of her trust and turned it into a multi-million dollar industry. She could have easily allowed the release of her sex tape to destroy her, but she moved on and used the sudden fame to her advantage. Many argue that she shouldn’t have made the tape in the first place, and although this may be true… please point me in the direction of someone who has never made a mistake in their life. Kim Kardashian is living proof that you can rise above and learn from any bad situation.

3. You can't please everybody.

If anyone can teach you this particular lesson, it’s the Kardashian family. These people hear, see, and receive more criticism in one day than you will in your entire lifetime. If the Kardashian clan can face the condemnation of millions of people and still leave their house every day, you can deal with any disagreements you may have.

4. Never forget to enjoy your life.

Although the Kardashians are constantly active and working, they remind us that sometimes you need to set aside a little time for fun. I hate to use the phrase, but you really do only live once. The Kardashian’s elaborate escapades and sisterly fun serve as a constant reminder that we, too, should be living life to the fullest.

5. Listen to your heart.

If Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage taught us anything, it’s that you have to listen to your heart. Maybe she shouldn’t have married Kris Humphries without being absolutely certain that he was the one she wanted to be with…but if you watch the show like I do, she explains that after the wedding, things just didn’t feel right. Kim taught us that only we know what’s best for ourselves…and if what’s best for you is breaking off a marriage after 72-days, you’ve got to go with your gut!

6. Family comes first.

The Kardashians, though they are notorious for their occasional dramatic outbursts, know where their priorities lie. They support and promote each other in every way that they can and anyone can tell that they truly love each other. They may not be perfect, but they know that family comes first.

7. Rich or poor, every family comes with baggage.

No matter how crazy you think your family is, watch an episode of, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and you will probably feel better almost immediately. Every family has their quirks and issues. The most important thing is working through them together.

8. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.

The Kardashians are internationally recognized for their beauty. Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie are all different sizes and sport different looks, but they are all equally beautiful. They teach society that there is not just one definition of beauty…and this, in my opinion, is the greatest lesson they have taught us so far.
