8 Ideas For A Fun, Cheap Date

It’s date night again and you are starting to run out of ideas of unique things to do. You know what else you are running out of? Money. Here is a list of adventures to take with your partner, whether you have been together for 10 months or 10 years. And the best part is, these all cost little to no money to do!

1. Find a grass field and watch the stars.

There is a huge soccer field near my house that very few cars drive by at night. It is the perfect area to pull into on a clear night, sit on the roof, and pick out constellations.

2. Relax on the beach as the sun goes down.

This is another date idea that takes place at night. After the sun sets over the beautiful water, find a flat rock to sit on and listen to the waves crash. If there’s a boardwalk or dock nearby, take a stroll and explore.

3. Walk down the busiest street in your town and try to find free samples.

If your town is too small for this kind of shopping, find a bigger city or town nearby. The goal is to get as many free samples of lotions and food as possible.

4. Climb up a fire escape to watch the sun rise.

You have already seen the sun set over the horizon, so now’s your chance to get up extra early to see it rise. Just don’t get caught climbing up the fire escape.

5. Go to the humane society to pet animals.

Wander in and out of the cat rooms to say hi to all the felines. Then you can pet the dogs or give them some treats.

6. Have a picnic with leftovers.

Look through all the leftover food in your kitchen and put together a nice lunch with what’s there. Maybe it will turn out great and be an efficient use of extra food. Maybe it will taste terrible, but at least you tried.

7. Spend an afternoon in the bookstore.

This is a fun thing to do if it is raining outside and your local bookstore has some cozy nooks hidden inside. Both of you can search for your favorite books that you have fond memories of to share with each other. You can learn a lot about someone by their taste in literature.

8. Drive to a nearby city or town you’ve never been to before.

It can be a big city or a small town, just as long as you know very little about it. Wander around, get lost, and explore all the different personalities that town has to offer.

These date ideas are simple, but they could be a lot of fun. You might learn a new thing or two about your partner that has never come up before. That's the beauty of changing up your normal routine.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
