8 Hot Date Spots At Purdue

Whether it's for the high school sweethearts who came to the same college, the new freshman lovebirds that met during the first week of school, or the girl you just asked on a date after staring at her for lectures on end, Purdue lovers are always looking for a new date spot. Well, look no further. We have spots that are romantic, fun, studious, and low key for you guys.

1. HSSE Library

Hit up the 2nd or 3rd floor of HSSE library in Stewart Center for a study date with the girl you've had your eye on in math. Grab a snack before you head up in the Stewart Market! It's a nice secluded place without it being too serious of a date.

2. Slayter Hill

Travel back in time and go old fashioned! Grab a blanket and some snacks and take a walk over to Slayter Hill. Admire the beautiful skies on the fall day and watch as the colored leaves fall off the trees and float around you.

3. La Scala Italian Restaurant

Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and the one you love. Put all three together and you get a wonderful date in Downtown Lafayette at La Scala Italian Restaurant. Large servings, light music, great Italian food. What could be better? If you're looking to treat your significant other to an amazing night, be sure to come here.

4. Riverside Skating Center

It's hard not to resort to "Netflix and chilling" during the ice cold months of December. Mosey on down to the ice rink and step onto the rink for a fun time. Make sure you bundle up.

P.S. It's okay if you cant skate, there are railings on the side for you beginners.

5. Horticulture Park

Go on a nice nature walk during the fall or spring months to Horticulture Park, west of Purdue West. During the fall months, enjoy the red, yellow and orange-colored leaves falling around you on the paths. During the Spring, enjoy the beautiful butterflies and birds chirping, and flowers blooming around you as you look into your significant other's eyes. So. Romantic.

6. Triple XXX

A Purdue special, hit up the Duane Purvis Peanut Butter Burger. This will ultimately test the amount they like you, because if they can't handle you at your worst, when you have peanut butter dripping everywhere and fries in your mouth, they definitely do not deserve you at your one leaf of spinach salad. Also, Triple XXX is a cheap alternative with a great atmosphere. Maybe not the fanciest place, but definitely a nice casual place to hit up when in West Lala.

7. Starbucks

Classic Starbucks, coming in clutch. "Hey girl, wanna go get some coffee sometime?" How many times do we hear this, girls? Not saying we don't like it though. Coffee is a girl's best friend. Hit up the Union or Third Street or even Wabash Landing if you want to get off campus for a while.

8. Discovery Park -- The Voss Project

If kissing your significant other under the light of a thousand stars, while having the sun light up next to you and seeing Jupiter in the distance sounds as amazing as you think, take a stroll over to Discovery Park in the night. When bored with nothing else to do, it's an mazing experience to see the replica of the planets all around you.

Of course, you can always go down to the movie theater at Wabash Landing, or bowling in the Union for cheap. A fun place for a group date is Echo Karaoke down at Wabash too. Get some bubble tea and belt out your favorite Taylor Swift song. If you have a car to go off-campus, you can always hit up Olive Garden or Outback Steakhouse for a great meal. Purdue is full of fun things to do, and fun places to take your crush or significant other.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
